I want to b switchn my n70 to umts mode only.
The modes there are Gsm and Dual and i need jst 3g alone.
I do ths with a software on ma w880i bt dnt knw the software i cn use for ths on N70.

I didnt want an update i want to be able to use umts only.

I have the software. But sadly enough it doesn't work on n70 but it works on every other nokia. Eg 6630, 6680 etc. It is a mobile software. But i can help with phoenix though it requires a pc.

I hav heard about that software.
Its used for phone repair and maintainance.
And it can also damage ur phone if its nt use well.

From what was said in Mambro link, it means that particular firmware has the option of having UMTS in it. . Dunno

I used phoenix 2006 to lock mine to umts only. D disadvantage is that after locking to umts through pc using phoenix u must not switch to dual/gsm mode because if u do, u will require a pc to relock it back to umts.
Note: if u have any 3g nokia phone ouside n70 contact me for the software and its user manual to lock ur phone to 3g/umts only. So far i have done it 4 nokia 6630 and 6680.

I also have a backup file of N70 with 3 network options ie gsm, dual & umts. All u need do is to creat a backup folder in ur mmc and put d file inside, then restore the backup to ur phone. It works like mad tested and certified. I am not giving it 4 free.

Yes-if you want a faster download speed.

NO-cause you will not get network signal if you enter a location where 3G doesnt exist.
