The Resurgent Niger Delta Republic- Igbo Viewpoint by cheruv: 3:22pm On May 08, 2016
Southern Nigeria is composed of three geopolitical zones viz West, centre and East. The West is Yoruba in outlook, the East is Igbo in outlook whilst the centre is a hybrid of different ethnic stocks that can be grouped into four categories

1]Edoid :- These were the majority of old bendel(excluding the Igbo Anioma groups) and had at one time or the other in history professed allegiance to the Oba of Benin. These groups are Bini, Afenmai, Ishan, Urhobo/Isoko, Jekiri.
Their political HQ is Benin city(Idu) while other notable cities of their region are Warri(Wori), Auchi, Sapele etc

2]Igboid :- these are people united by language and cultural values but due to politics of the post war era carved into the SS. They're composed of these categories
-Anioma Igbos viz enuani, ukwuani, ika
-Orashi Igbos viz ikwerre, ekpeye/ekpahia, ogba
-Imo river Igbos viz etche, obigbo/ndoki, bonny-opobo
-Cross river Igbos viz Abi/legbo
The notable cities in their region are asaba, agbor, kwale, PH, obigbo, ahoada, itigidi etc

3]Ijoid :- these are the real delta folk(my opinion though) and are organized on the system of canoe houses. These groups include kalabari, wakirike, nembe, epie, Ogbogolo.
Their political HQ is Yenegoa while other cities are brass, degema, buguma, PH, okirika, sagbama, bomadi etcetc

4]Cross river :- These are a group of disparate ethnicities whose tongues originated from the Cross(Oyono) river valleys. These groups are categorized into
-Kegbo/Ogoni
-Ibibio/Efik
-Ekoi and boki/yalla
Their political HQ is calabar(Atakpa) while other cities are uyo, bori, ikom, ogoja, ikot ekpene, oron etc

A resurgent NDR exclusive of the No 2 above is a sure bet...moreover these three ethnic blocks would balance themselves out and there'd be no Igbos to "marginalize" them.
God bless the SE/SS region

The Niger Delta Republic will consist of Edo, Delta, Rivers, Cross River, Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa. In some parts of Anioma land they pledge allegiance to Benin. They include Agbor and Ika areas. Niger Delta Republic will be an economic powerhouse in Africa due to our numerous resources, access to international waters and lush vegetation. They're no clear majorities and they're month minorities. We respect every tribe for what they are and what they claim they are. It's far better to have our own nation than join biafra. No disrespect to biafra though.

Long live Niger Delta Republic

This is the problem I have with some people

Somebody said panadol will cure headache

Another man said it will not...now tell us what you think will cure the headache you don't know but you believe the panadol is poison

The op has stated his own version of what southern nigeria is terms of tribal classification

If you disagree give your own version, and if you don't know then just accept you don't have a clear understanding and defination of your father land

With what I've come to know now I think Nigerian army should be ruthless against any group preaching secession and PDP as a party needs to be wiped off our political history. The level of killings, stealing, sponsorship of terrorism and manipulation of religious groups carried out by Jonathan's administration needs the entire world to come together and punish them accordingly. Tufiakwa!

Anioma Nation aka Delta North is Not Part of any Niger Delta Republic movement.
It will be a melting point of tribes, is there love in the SS.?
We will love an IGBO REPUBLIC with 5 regions.
Eastern Igbo region
Northern Igbo region
Western Igbo region(Aniomas)
Riverine Igbo region
Hinterland Igbo region.
With Enugu, Owerri or my Asaba as Capital.

Don't worry...territorial delineation of Igbos would follow certain guidelines that favors lumping together clans that have similar heritage. For now we've these regions

1] Oma mbala
2] Anioma
3] Orashi
4] Imo
5] Aloma
6] Oyono
7] Oji
8] Nsuka

As for capitals...I'd go with owerri bkos Enugwu is too North while asaba is too West(am looking at it from the eyes of a military general) for my liking. A quick dash from nsuka as in the case of the war can put an enemy within striking distance of Enugwu in days. Same for asaba..once agbor is taken, asaba is put in peril.
Take a look at the map

I'm a Biafran and would love you people to have your republic and for Biafra to have its own republic. I'm not a fan of big country and huge population because it means nothing to me as it does not translate to any meaningful thing. That said, I think you're mistaken to include Anioma in your calculations. Just observe and know that there are Igbo regions in ND that would want to join Biafra.

People say the SE wants to leach on the SS, but to the contrary, we are not in the least interested in the SS, we only want you to join your voice with ours so that we would be heard otherwise it would be very difficult for us to call out alone, and this is the only reason we try to bring you on board, so you see the reason why I'm supporting your proposition. Form your republic and we have our Biafra, that is what matters to me and us, we can relate in the future through some bilateral agreements.

I think you're being fair to me by saying I hate your tribe. Yeah I'do, but for a reason, if your tribesmen think and act like you do I believe igbos will love and cherish them. If you observed my writing I said I'm beginning to... The reason for the disgust we have for you guys is because we see you guys as leaches and subservient to the fulanis. I want the Yorubas to take a firm stand in what is happening in Nigeria, let the whole world know where you stand. Igbos always take a stand irrespective of the cost, we took a stand against buahri and we maintain it, the SS took a stand against buahri and they are still there, the north took a stand against Jonathan and they maintained it till the end.

But same cannot be said about the Yorubas, you may call it intelligence but where has that intelligence taking you?. In what ways are the Yorubas leading other tribes, all you've is Lagos - which if you've been outside Nigeria you will know Lagos is not even a standard city. Having an airport and seaport is something even the poorest country in the world has. So don't live in the illusion that Lagos is anything, I still consider Lagos the dirtiest city in west Africa. Yourubas should take a stand and fight for it, they should stop being divided over issue. And this is the singular reason why the SE/SS is coming together. Becaus they have seen they share the same sentiments, and buahri is making that come quicker and stronger. I hope you get the picture.
