U are not a nigerian
Cos if are a Nigerian, u will know Mtn cannot even give u more than 4mbps even if u dey live inside their mast

But I'm sure that guy meant 14MB/s not 14mb/s since our download meter reads in MB

Of course that's the capacity of his phone... With HSDPA+ you can acheive it on MTN even more
14mbps divide by 8
That is 1.75MBps
Have you used Pshisphon before?

See screen shot below for Speed by phone

Put an MTN sim in the 3 Sims and tell me which phone will download faster..

The Nokia 301 can never download pass 7.2 mbps that is 1MBps, it is not MTN's headache

Loaded up and tried it again. Nothing. I'm beginning to doubt this tweak is true because reputable tech blogs haven't posted it. It's mostly "them say" for now.

Finally gotten it to work.
For users already on pulse, mtn has created a new pulse one has to re-register into. Keep dialing *406# repeatedly till you get a message saying you can now activate the overnight free browsing option. Persistence helped me here as frustration was taking a hold of me.

Clue 8 mega bit Mb makes 1 mega byte MB

You mean MTN speed no reach 4mbit per sec.. How come we download at 1.2 MB/s or more

Covert the 4 mbit to MB that is 512KB that is what my office use you can not download pass 600KB when there is burst

What are you saying my browser speed shows in mbps not MB...

The speed you get depends in your phone.. I had use psiphon and i Got about 3.1 MBps that is 22 mbps.. With MTN

You get the network's Full speed when you turnell or bypass with IP, it is like using a dedicated server

Go and do your research the speed of HSDPA + 3.75G

Nice one. But the emboldened is HSPA+. HSDPA is long gone, or rather going obsolete in terms of offering and usage.

Using UC Browser, I still get up to 2.5MB/s at worst. But majorly it's around 3 and 3.5MB/s

You are right. If and when I really need to boost my download speeds, I switch to an iPad and I'll notice an increase of at least 1MB/s. So the device matters a great deal. And also, location plays a part too.

it was just too fast. I downloaded two 30mb files in less than 3mins simultaneously. when I subscribe this night, I definitely would check the speed. but I am sure mine would be faster than that guys own. Mtn blew my mind early this morning.
