My Question On Fuel Subsidy Removal by tolustx(m): 11:48am On May 12, 2016
There's one issue disturbing me.
I suddenly heard that fuel subsidy has been removed in Nigeria and that PMS will now sell for #145. I have no problem with that because I know it should make the product more accessible to buyers. It should be more readily available now and the price should be to a large extent, stable.

What I have a challenge with however, is the set of people that had problems with it when the same step was taken by the previous administration. Where are the protesters at MKO Abiola garden? Whr are the ones at TBS? where's everybody? Everything just seem normal and we just hears murmurs, hisses and sounds of people accepting it as "fate". I don't even expect or pray for any industrial action of such but the whole episode now brings some questions...
1. Why is it that the people that were antagonists to the removal of fuel subsidy few years ago, now the ones implementing it? These are people who convinced the masses that there was nothing like fuel subsidy. People who turned the citizens against government, instigating battles that claimed lives of the innocent, and careless citizens. President Buhari said in December 2011 that... " According to him, ‘Nigerians are being deceived on the issue of fuel subsidy, The federal government takes out fuel for refining, only to come back and talk of removing the subsidy. That is nonsense and an attempt by a clique with the PDP led federal government to siphon the proceeds to be realized from the removal of oil subsidy”.

2. What exactly do Nigerians want or what did we protest against in January 2012? Was it the leadership that we all fought against or fuel subsidy removal? That part is not too clear to me now.

3. What is the assurance that this present price will be stable and PMS will be available for all and sundry?

I cannot ask all my questions now. I think we should answer these first.
