How Much Can U Afford In Organising Wedding Party ? by MT: 10:23am On Nov 20, 2006
In this present age and situation in Nigeria, how much do u think an average wedding could cost (ie wedding gowns, foods, entertainment etc). ***Average in the sense that not to exotic but with a perfect blend of good taste.

And before one dreams of getting married to a chick, wat are the things one should be able to afford (i.e should one be able to buy a car for one's wife, how much , at least should one have in the account after wedding etc)

Pls contribute

the welding party only, excluding traditional party, depends on the guests u are expecting, if say 200 person which may cost N100,000.00 for food and drinks, welding hall and chairs and tables N50,000.00, clothes (gown and coat, and shoes) N100,000.00, gifts N50,000.00, transportation say N20,000;phone calls N20,000; Invitation cards N25,000; welding programme N20,000;
Total for small welding party say N400,000 but U can plan with this and spend less minimum should be N300,000

Wedding hall 50000.00. Where? My Brother in laws wife got a hall for 125000.00 in port harcourt and from what I hear from others that is a very reasonable price. I know halls can go as much as 2-5 million in lagos

Your wedding party cost should be based on your present financial state.
Say if have only N1000,000,000. It will be wise and reasonable if you spend betwen 200k to 500k for your weeding. The lesser the better. But going above that will be unreasonable becuase your wedding party is one day event but married life continued after wedding and investing on your marriage is more valuable than investing just on one day wedding event. All you have to do is just use what you have to get the best you can for the wedding day. Good planning will make a whole lot difference and save you a whole lot of cost. If you make enough enquiry, it will supprise you that most things that people generally believe to be costly can be available at cheaper price somehow,somewhere.
