For inciting protests against the removal of fuel subsidy in
2012 on the grounds that it was an anti-people policy, and
now turning around to remove the same subsidy, President
Muhammadu Buhari and the members of the All
Progressives Congress have been told that they owe former
President Goodluck Jonathan an apology.

This is the position of the lawmaker representing Ukwa
Federal Constituency of Abia state in the House of
Representatives, Hon. Uzoma Nkem-Abonta (PDP), who
accused Buhari of having taken a destructive position in
2012 without reasoning and economic analysis.

Abonta however expressed his support for the removal, but
called for a total deregulation of the sector, passage and
implementation of the Petroleum Industry Bill.

Several members of the opposition party have already
berated the Buhari administration for campaigning with
promises that he would not increase the price of fuel, and
not keeping the promise.

Speaking with THISDAY, Abonta also accused the seventh
House of Representatives of playing the script of those who wanted Jonathan to fail with the resolution against the
removal in 2012.

“They occupied Nigeria in 2012. What changed between
2012 and now causing the increase? That means they were
ignorant and lacked political reasoning. The criticized
Jonathan out of trying to condemn him. Those who
surround him (Buhari) misled Nigerians using the Labour
movement. Lai Mohammed was one of those who occupied
Nigeria. What would he say now?” Abonta said. “I hope the eighth assembly would do the right thing and let the removal stay, although those at the helm now all canvassed against it, now they should tell Nigerians sorry,”
he added.

Abonta, who is also the Chairman of the Committee on
Public Petitions, advised that the money saved from the
removal of subsidy should be invested through a clear
economic agenda, which he noted the current government
lacks.

He urged Buhari to consult those who ran the economy
under President Jonathan, particularly Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-
Iweala, whose polices managed to keep the dollar at N160
for several years.

There was no looting, yet people are returning money. There was not looting yet revelation in the court, as witness. Even the director that was convicted for stealing pension is not conviction.

who are the people returning money and how did it come about that we don't know them. It is not about stage witness that will deny anything any moment,until I see when there is real convict people. I am not interested on people dancing around their own drum beats, like i said the is no conviction or what ever yet from anyone in clear and formal scene. All allegations and statements made so far are coming from only one source, the efcc. Even at that they have not brought out a sound and authentic source that will indicate such scandal, all they do is play their own song, dance to it and at same time rate their performance.

I didn't read, but was there APC as at January 2012?

The Reality of Nigeria is: PDP is The Landlord while APC is The Tenant. The Tenant wants CHANGE to be in CHARGE. Landlord drives the Tenant for CHANGE and closes the Tenant operational Base. The Tenant is unwilling/unable to go back to Base and now living as TOUT in the Street with no where to spread and sell his wears. And now NLC wants N56000 monthly wage from a Tenant who is unemployed. The Tenant wants to pay N145 per litre of Fuel instead of the N97 per litre originally set by the Landlord before he got in CHARGE and many more. Please, I am asking, who really is to blame in all these situations?

APC is fast loosing their credibility. They need to criticize Jonathan gov bt themselves so they don't make same mistakes. No govt is a saint by default until dey prove it to us.
