Its not about what others are doing.

We are talking about a general problem affecting OPEC countries.

Do you need more lectures on that?

This shot man is comparing Nigeria to those Country that have 24 electricity, good roads, good health care system and so on.
Somebody should remind him that people drive to filling stations in those countries and tank their car by themselvs without having to sleep in queue 2 days to buy it.

Tax percentage? Yes. But since salaries and prices change, then tax payable changes too.

So this midget whom the op quoted is comparing a country like ours that has next to no refining capacity to those that own refineries and we probably even import from them?

How many of these countries have their citizens hustling jerry cans to fuel generators because of acute lack of electricity? What about minimum wage and spending power? Health care?Infrastructure?

See even the way they have announced the time earlier so the people are properly involved and sensitization. Even with prior knowledge there is no panic buying or hoarding and on the given day, the prices go up as announced. The food prices remain fairly stable. Is it the same here? Were citizens not ambushed and unprepared? Police dey collect money from those people for road? Wetin we dey see for here especially commercial transportation operators,

All these wicked rulers that want us to measure equally in adverse practices with other countries but never the good ones favourable to citizens; !they must surely die and waste away before the end of their first tenures! Nonsense!

Implement the oronsaye report. Rationalise the civil service. This will lead to a fall in aggregate demand in the economy and reduce the pressure on the naira. This will also correct inefficiencies with in the system.
Other measures such as removing quota system and replace it with a merit system.

The Federal government can also put pressure on the national assembly using the rmafc to reduce their incomes to levels when oil was selling at its current rate.

The civil and public servants consume majority of our oil earnings. The private sector then provides services for the civil and public servants.

These measures will have political costs. nigeria cannot afford to have a politician as a leader in these complex times.

Socialist and monarchy states cannot carryout measures as these because their political frameworks will collapse. The worst political thing that can happen in nigeria's case is that APC loses the next election.

The president needs to be a statesman above being a politician. He must protect the poorest in the society as against the middle and upper class.

As brilliant as your suggestions are, will they give the immediate results we earnestly need? Will they provide us the urgently needed cash?

We need a drop in demand for dollars by nigerians or an increase in the supply of dollars to state coffers.

The only advantage of the current policy is that nnpc gets to sell more of its share of oil for US dollars. Basically nnpc will supply 50 percent of our needs and sale the other 50 percent for profit.

The rich and middle class can afford to purchase petrol at 150, but the poor can't.

If buhari sacked government workers demand for imported consumer goods will definitely fall. This will reduce the pressure on the naira acRoss board. If this policy doesn't work, increasing the price of fuel will then be justifiable.

The last time I checked all the countries he listed are for more developed than Nigerian and there level of poverty is not as critical as ours.
Re: List Of Countries That Have Increased Fuel Pump Price by lilprinze: 9:55am On May 16, 2016
so we should be rejoicing right?. this midget should stop comparing Nigerian with other countries because we are not running the same economy , the level of development in the countries he listed different from each other, the rate of poverty is deeper in nigeria than many countries you posted, the level of joblessness is high in nigeria compare to those countries the midget posted.
