Good morning friends, I am looking to seal a deal to procure a foreign used car this morning but the issue is that I want to be sure it isn't a stolen car.

I met the sellers in the town where I live. They do not have an office around here, I am not all convinced they are patent dealers.

I have seen the custom documents of the said vehicle, I am also going to confirm it genuineness with a friend who's a senior officer in the Nigerian Customs Service. Yet I also need to hear from experienced persons about other important things I should look out for.

The price of the Car should tell you if it is genuine or not. secondly it is not 100% safe buying cars from a place that isn't a car stand/garage, unless you know the seller so well. so in the event of any happenstance, you can lay your hand on someone. Else na kirikiri be that oooh. What is car model and year and price?

Before you seal the deal
(1) Ensure where applicable, a VIN check is conducted and result received prior
(2) If you are not competent enough, get someone that is, give the vehicle a thorough check and test
(3) Since you already got a custom personnel escorting you, the documentation side is covered

Don't buy a vehicle from dealers you can't trace and who don't have a place of business. If your guts says it is stolen then its probably is. Better safe than sorry. Cash is king. You have cash.
In fact I'd say DON'T buy at all!
When case start you'll be required to produce the occupants who were kidnapped when the car was stolen!

Thanks guys. It means the Custom paper is not sufficient guarantee. About the car and its price, it is an Honda Accord 2003 Model, not a superb grade. We reached a 1.1M agreement.
