Allo,

Please I need some advice, currently have a partner who lives in the States (US). We have been together for 9 years and in that period we spent 2years in a long-distance relationship because I moved back to Nigeria. However, we have kept in touch and I regularly go visit her, now we are expecting our first kid and the issues here is my mum. She(mum) not really a fan of the IR relationships, always insulting this girl despite the fact she has never met her or doesn't know anything about her. My mum is always talking about how the girl should relocate back to Nigeria and all sort of things.

I know she has a point in the relocating talks, but the thing I believe her relocating to Nigeria isn't something that needs to happen right now. But trust naija parents and their "You must do things my way". Also, give that the lady in question already has a kid which I haven't told my mum about because I know what her reaction would be.

So my fellow nairalanders, how would you handle this sort of situation if you were in my shoes... The initial plan was for her to bring the baby in December but given my mum attitude and her tone/the mean things she says..Am seriously reconsidering bring her down here.
