Fellow Nairalanders, this is how MTN removed #300 from the #1000 recharge i loaded on my fone yesternight. I was trying to subscribe for MTN 1.5gb data to quickly send a report to my office, after many failed attempts to subscribe, i tried transferring the #1000 to my second MTN number hoping that the subscription would be successful there, but even to transfer failed. After doing all I could with no success, I left the #1000 with few additional naira intact hoping that when the Network gets better I will try subscribing or maybe transfer to the other sim. On waking this morning, I didn't even bother myself on checking what I have in my account cos I left it all intact, I dialled the sub code and the message I got was ''your operation failed due to insufficient balance", this prompted me into checking my balance, and saw that exactly #300 has been deducted. I already knew nothing could be done because that's how it is in the country we live in, but then there is no harm in trying and miracle can happen. So, I put a call through to their customer agent, guess what he said "THE APP I AM SUPPOSED TO USE TO ACCESS YOUR LINE IS NOT AVAILABLE AT THE MOMENT, PLS CALL BACK AT A LATER TIME", I just laughed and hung up. I called again knowing fully well that it is another person that would pick up, this time it was a female agent, laid my complaints and guess what, as if that answer has been stereotyped to their brain, she said the samething, I just bursted into laughter. It was really painful but I am not sure if I have any choice. This kinda settings where big Telecom company exploit the masses. This can only happen in my dear Country 'NIGERIA'. My lovely Nairaland family, I know I am not the first and not sure if I am gonna be the last but is there any remedy to this kind of issue ? If it cannot help my own situation, it will atleast prevents future occurence and no other person will encounter such again hopefully.

That is how my money was deducted this morning

They spend millions of naira to sign artist, and care less, abt their subscribers i have 834 mb on my sim for 4days nw i have bn denied acss to it..i don call cc tire,we have sent a report to the technical department shit, they keep saying....

I noticed similar thing on my Trutalk line anytime I recharge about 30% of my credit is usually deducted and seriously I will just smile because I dont whom to complain to again. Those Customer Care reps are mtcheew I don resign from them.

check well maybe you have active auto renewal MTN music plus weekly plan on ur line

Text Cancel7C to 5900 and also text Cancel7d to 5900 and with the reply you will get you will know if any of them was active before and if they have cancelled it

Same here....i loaded #500 i tried to subscribe to 1GB dey said mmi code failed....i tried 750mb...dey also said mmi codr failed.....i slept and woke up by 12:44am....i checked my credit and it was #100....after like an hour....it was #0.10.....

I suscribed for Mtn 500mb by midnight, but could only use 50mb. From 12-4am, it was network failure. Every day Mtn is blatantly devising new ways to scam the common man. who is forcing them to sign big artist and send millions of rubbish sms. What can one expect from a family biz, run by Igbos.

thank God at last i find were to lay my complains, its like 2times now dt i brought 100# bundles bt mtn will nt credited my account, d money will b removed bt dere will nt credit my accnt and every time i recharge my number dere wil removed my money b4 d following day, pls help me out, (07031951080)
