This thread is for objective appraisal; not needless noise nor rants.

Simply state in not more than 4 sentences, Buhari's biggest blunder (in your own view) vs his biggest brilliance.

I'd go first:

Buhari's biggest blunder: Restricting Forex for foreign students, and going ahead to call it their "tough luck" on international TV -- you can't place a figure on education!

Buhari's bigest brilliance: Degrading Boko Haram a.k.a ISWAP -- that is a coup!

Biggest blunder: Poor communication skill Brilliance & the NASS siddon look drama.

Brilliance : A stronger judicial arm, there is still room for improvement but there is positive difference...

Nigerians and alliterations!

Biggest achievement: TSA, holistic firmness, and ministers containment for now!

Biggest Blunder: obtaining court order against NLC while negotiation is still ongoing and conniving with an illegal NLC faction led by Ajaero( Shows the government can dine with any body to achieve his motives) to scuttle NLC and ripe the masses.

Prayers: God PMB geometric wisdom ASAP and Nigerians the fortitude to bear the pains ahead of us!

Biggest blunders
1. Lack of communication - Only speaking to foreigners and always leaving both his ministers and Nigerians at large to guess and speculate what's on his mind

2. Poor speech pattern - unpresidential speeches (e.g. 5%, 'I can afford it', Nigerians are corrupt etc)

3. Lack of diplomacy - Extending a hand of fellowship and having an inclusive govt could have watered down most of the tension and crisis brewing up today. The country is much more divided along ethnic line because of this blunder.

4. Ridiculously glaring nepotism/bigotry - especially in appointments, attitude towards herdsmen, 5% speeches etc.

Brilliance
1. Bokoharam

2. Plugging leaking holes - Its now more difficult to steal

3. Corruption - It may 'appear' one-sided, but the fact and the real result is that we can no longer wake up one morning and hear that N10bn allocated to fix a road has entered the pockets of one or two persons, either apc or pdp).

*** Oops! more than 4 sentences lipsrsealed

Buhari biggest achievement.

1 To have been able to sustain the government on little or no foreign debt and maximising the local sources of income up until his first budget.
For this year budget, the fact that the proposal shows a move away from oil is something to be applauded.

2 Slowing down the rot and preventing what would have become a calamity. Those who do not understand or who have forgotten what it would have look liked should remember 2014 when the banks, telecoms, companies were shutting down.

3 Slowing down the bleeding of our forex reserves and thereby trapping the funds of foreign speculators who were making a mess of /manipulating the Nigerian currency /economy. Basically buy time until conditions improve.

4 Throwing spanners into the works of the Subsidy thieves Jonathan brought into the fuel importation business.

Failures

1 The government remains like others,a government suffering from a severe dose of colo - mentality. Until the shackles of colo mentality is broken, nothing will move forward.

2 The government is neither humanist nor afrocentric. It is obvious that mist Nigerian suffer from one sort of inferiority complex or the other. Also being ng afrocentric means moves would have made to start developing the capacity of talented Nigerians to start solving Nigerian problems. I see no reason why our roads are constructed by foreigners while Nigerians are only used for manual labour. I also see no reason why Nigerian cannot start moves towards manufacturing our own power plant.

3 The Government like others before it is always looking for the "in America" or "in -Saudi Arabia solutions.
There are moves that can be taken and which would not cost dollars.

4 Herdsmen

5 poor communication(good propaganda)
People do not seem to feel that they own the government. When people take ownership of a government, they are open to the alternative narrative

Example.Somehow Jonathan was able to convince some people that the country's GDP was because of his magic looting hand/ initiatives, when in actual fact, under him, Nigeria's growth not only slowed but was also undermined. Almost all the new sectors and growth occurred under Obasanjo (Internet, mobile phones, bank consolidation,Rejuvenated music industry, cement etc), and and under Abacha( Nollywood,Satellite TV and private tv and radio).
