Moving into a Lagos or a new city can be a little bit difficult and stressful especially if you don’t know anyone.

As easy as it can be for Iroko TV to become your new best friend or even Netflix, am pretty sure you don’t want to hit Club 57, Quilox or Shawns bar on your own. So babe/guy, you have to make friends. But how do you make friends, you don’y just go running into someone and say “be my friends” or use that pretty voodoo of yours on them.

Making new friends or meeting with new people can be a little bit hard. I know it’s a little bit difficult, you may not find that close friend immediately, but it’s not that difficult to get someone to grab a drink with you.

However friendship starts in small ways, so if you’re looking for a friend in Lagos, try these following methods….

1. Work:

The “sure bet” – Not the betting brand; at making friends is definitely going to be through work. You’re going to spend 40+ hours a week at work with new people. So the sure bet is that someone in your office will have the same interests. Don’t shut off your older colleagues as they may have other cute or beautiful friends and might probably provide you with networking opportunities.

Take every possibilities to go out for Lunch with them, watch a movie or grab a bite from Dominos and Coldstone. Besides, work friends is better than no friend.

2. Neighbours:

Your neighbours are also the perfect set of of persons to make friends with, be nice to them not caring whether they are older than you or not. You might be lucky to be invited over for dinner or even Netflix and Chill (Children as the case may be)

3. Gym:

Yesss!! Gym baby… You will absolutely make friends at the gym. It practically easy just like ABC… Just join a gym class, and you will see the same people every day.
Pretty sure 7/10 of persons in the gym will talk to you. You can even stand or set up to that person you find pretty different in the next gym class.

4. Volunteer:

Volunteering is of the easiest way to meet people. I believe volunteering will provide you with a chance to meet people of the same interest.

5. Network:

Networking is another cool way of making friends, you can run into an alumni from your school if you are a recent graduate.

6. Online

This is one of the easiest platform for you to make friends, you have a whole lot of social media platform that you can utilise ranging from whatsapp, BBM, Tinder, and snapchat.
