How can be a good christian when I don't understand the bible. Too many questions to ask! I know the ten commandments were given in the old testament, I also know it still applies to present day christians, what I don't get is why there is a 'thou shalt not kill' in the commandments and our loving creator still instructed the israelites to kill their enemies. My question is, who created these enemies? Is it not God? Why would he love some children more than others? I'm confused! Over to the pastors in the house.

In times of war, u don't fold ur arms and watch ur rivals kill you, u fight.. In summary of the ten commandments, Jesus summed it up by giving jst two which are 1)Love the LORD your God with all your heart, mind and strength. 2) Love your neighbour as yourself..
Don't be confused, just pray for the Holy Spirit to answer any doubt or question u av in mind about the Scripture or even life itself..
See Matthew 5:43-48; Matthew 22:37-40
Hope this helps

You could have been cleared of this thing if you have read the DOCTRINE OF THE UFOS. we are created by different gods, but the father of all gods is DOMINO REVERAD, the God who created the world with a BIG BANG. ever wonder why every religion has resemblance to each other in their practises, etc fasting, festival celebration, eating of body and drinking of blood, sons of gods dying for the whole world? Yes, it's because they all existed at a time before. They co-existed, but the most violent of the gods, which is satan(Jehovah) gained more ground than the rest of them eventually. Follow my signature to see for yourselves. I get my message directly from Eartum, one of the brothers of Jehovah. There were even some verses in the Bible where he was mistakenly pointed out as Satan because the editor forgot to change Satan his real name to God. 2 Sam 24 and 1st Chronicle 21. One passage said God made David to do census while the other passage said Satan did. Same story, but different stance on who made David to do census all in the same book called babble(bible).

Bro, we can't questions God.And we can't ever fully understand him. He created us, we did not creat him. He has power over us. We did not have power over him. He tell us what we should do,we can't tell him what he should do, God was something we were nothing but he made us something. He own us, we do not own him. We belong to him.He created us for a purpose and that purpose was to know him as our creator and to do his will.

Car was manufactured by men for the purpose of carry people from one place to another. And it controlled by men. The engine's capacity, the speed, the colour everything was determined by man.If the manufacturer does not love the car anymore, he can use it to build another car and people that does not empowered him or told him how to do hit can not question him. The book of Isaiah 64:8
" But now, O Lord thou art our father, we are the clay and thou our potter, and we all are the work of your hand"

God had made every human being to kown his wishes for us but people have deviated from God orders they were doing what God dislikes that was reason God asked israelite to destroyed them. He did not just love and chose Israelite. He love them because they love him and obey his command. Abraham their father made God to love them first. Abraham was man that obeyed God when others disobeyed him. That made God to love him and his children but he does not pardon them whenever they forsook him. Remember he asked them to kill themselves for making a graven image and called it god. He allows then to be taken captive becouse of their sins. He did punish them according to the gravity of their sins. God told Israelite why he destroyed those nation and warn them of doing likewise. Read Leviticus 20:1-23 in these verses God gave us insight of what the nations he destroyed did that made him destroyed them

God owes no man no expiannation our duities is to to do his will

Sir, I didn't understand what u just typed. You can hardly put words together and you're here dismissing the bible. Treat your sickness first then read the bible again. And you will come out with good testimonies and it's resultant effect.

When Adam sinned against God, humans were separated from God and became enemies of God. Our nature was no more God's nature as intended. When God called Abraham and tested him, he was very pleased and made a covenant with him and his seed forever. God loved Israel but reproached the rest of humanity. And intended to afflict and kill them with his people Israel because they were cursed. But because of Israel continous rebellion God decided to extend his grace to the gentile nations through Jesus Christ. This is the dispensation of the gentiles. But God still loves Israel and has promised a perfect reconciliation after the gentile dispensation is over.

ROMANS 5:8 'But God commended his love in that while we were yet enemies of God, Christ died for us.

KJV -"thou shalt not kill"

"Kill" in this command refers to the unlawful or immoral killing of another human being, in other words, murder is the most accurate word here and is used in most modern translations.

Translations :
https://www.biblegateway.com/verse/en/Exodus%2020:13

ESV Study Bible
:

"here (Hb. ratsakh) includes both the unlawful or immoral killing of another human being (the specific meaning of the English word “murder”) and also (see esv footnote at Ex. 20:13) causing the death of another human being through careless or negligent behavior (as in Deut. 19:4–6; cf. Num. 35:22–25). This verb is never used in the OT of killing in war. The exact opposite of murder is commanded in Lev. 19:18, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Hard Sayings of The Bible
:

"The Hebrew language possesses seven words related to killing, and the word used in this sixth commandment appears only forty-seven times in the Old Testament. This Hebrew verb, ratsah , refers only to the killing of a person, never to killing animals, and not even to killing persons in a war. It carries no implications of the means of killing. If anyone of the seven words for killing in the Old Testament signifies what we refer to as “murder,”this is the verb. It implies premeditation and intentionality. Without exception, especially in the later Old Testament periods, it refers to intentional, violent murder (Ps 94:6; Prov 22:13; Is 1:21; Jer 7:9; Hos 4:2;6:9).In each instance, the act was conceived in the mind first and the victim was chosen deliberately. Thus the Old Testament would never use this verb to denote the killing of beasts for food (Gen9:6)or the nation’s involvement in a war commanded by God.It would, however, use this verb in reference to self-murder(suicide) and in reference to the actions of accessories to a murder (2Sam 12:9)."

Richirich714, mind you, the reason for the confusion is not the context which the word was used but why there'd even be a killing of any kind between people created by dsame heavenly father. You get?

Dear I can understand what you are going through,u see Bible is one confuse book,a book u can defend only by lying because it contradict itself and it's full of lie and error.religion as a whole is sham and scam, dats y it demand its followers to just believe without asking any question.u ve asked a good question now let's see what our Christian brothers and sisters will have to say

#bottom line is that I don't expect anything special from them except their usual lie

In your quest for knowledge, be very observant, those who claim to know the truth will defend their truth with the same book you getting confused of.

If that happens just know they as clueless as you but fails to realize it, again it's a sign to show all human are insecure and large number of people accepts religion because of the psychological bandwagon effect. Which is irrational and the only antidote to irrationality is self discovery and consciousness.

That's the answer.

It is good all these questions are coming up in ur mind. It would help u realise how fake the bible is. Eg why would God ordain for Jesus to die a cruel death in the hands of his killers, that would mean God planned who the killers would be and he still intends on punishing them for killing his beloved son whom he destined to die in that way at the handsof those killers Why would Jesus die for our sin 2,000 years before we began to exist? would that mean that an unexisting person is guilty of sin If so, why did God make us imperfect and still blames us for being imperfect the bible is nothing more than a set of books written by some jews in a bid to fill up their ignorance.

Here we go agin with people trying to rationalize killing.

Why is it that Bible god must sacrifice something with blood before he can fight his enemy? An enemy, BTW, who was manufactured in his heavenly angel factory.

do u even understand what forgiveness mean? OK let's take dis as example,u scratch my car with ur car n allow u to go with ur car without paying anything, dat is forgiveness.u scratch my car n I had to kill my son to appease to myself before I could forgive u,haven't I collect what I want?can u call dat forgiveness?

Forgiveness is the intentional and voluntary process by which a victim undergoes a change in feelings and attitude regarding an offense, lets go of negative emotions such as vengefulness, with an increased ability to wish the offender well.

^^^^^^^^dat's the definition of forgiveness

Welcome onboard! Answering your questions, in my opinion, only fixes your attention on what to think. So I suggest you think for yourself first, tell us what you think/feel and then we can can actually tell you what we think.
