First big clash of the season.  .  .it's United hosting Arsenal at Old Trafford this Saturday afternoon.

United got off on a shaky start this season, but seemed to be back in form after their 5-0 win over Wigan last weekend. In truth though, during the first half United showed less fluency than one would expect from the current Champions. Nobody was making runs and Wigan actually looked like a classy side. Makes one wonder just how well the Red Devils will do against an Arsenal side that can't seem to stop scoring.
Sir Alex Ferguson was spotted at the Emirates last night keenly observing the Arsenal-Celtic game. He will need to put up a strong MF as his main worries could be Arshavin and Cesc Fabregas.

Arsenal are a fast-paced side, so Sir Alex might go with Valencia, Anderson, Fletcher and Nani for speed. Still, the Scot might decide to mix his young players with veterans Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs. Michael Carrick is also available, so team selection won't be easy. In attack, Rooney and Berbatov are certain to start on Saturday to keep the goals in-coming. United's defense has been boosted by the return of Nemanja Vidic. Evra will be present also, and he is one solid defender. Fabio might put in an appearance.  .  .the Arsenal team is full of young bloods that just might give United's older defenders the slip. Goalie Foster has improved a lot too in his role as first team keeper in the absence of Edwin Van der Saar. I hope the knowledge that a lot will be expected of him won't make him nervy again.

Arsenal have been on a goal spree the past few weeks. Coupled with that, their 4-3-3 has been working quite well for them.  .  .the team has shown a lot of fluidity with the players seamlessly blending with each other in and out of position.

Arsene Wenger rested Robin Van Persie last night in preparation for this game. RVP and Bendtner will most likely be in attack, as well as Eduardo if the 4-3-3 formation is used. Midfield is sure to contain the assassin, Arshavin, and captain Cesc Fabregas will be back from his leg injury for this game. Who knows where Theo Walcott is? If I was Wenger I would put him in there for speed on the flanks, after all United play some fluid football too. But then, I ain't Wenger. The French man has got quite a number of options available for him, so the selection process won't be easy as well. Last night Eboue featured in MF.  .  .remains to be seen if he will remain there or move to the back four. Vermaelen is a major boost for the Gunner defense.  .  .the man is one tireless defender. Definitely he will be assigned to Wayne Rooney.

Gallas was very impressive last night during the Celtic game. I'm sure he will be itching to score against United. Let's hope he won't forget that he is primarily a defender. Manuel Almunia will remain in goal for the Gunners.

All in all, both sides seem set for a major showdown. I know we're all set for some major action.

I'm not going to vouch for the consistency of my darling gunners throughout the season. I'm not going to vouch for my dear arsenal to win the league come May. But one thing I'm so so sure of is that based on current form, Man U is meeting Arsenal at the wrong time.
