THERE are speculations that the Saturday governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) may take place in one of the Army barracks in the state rather than the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium for security reasons . Vanguard learnt that those suggesting that the venue is shifted to the barracks were fearing that the violent incident which took place in Bayelsa during the botched governorship primaries of APC may take place in Edo if urgent steps are not taken to avert it.However,Vanguard learnt that majority of the party members were insisting that the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium should remainthe venue because it is spacious for such an event.

Oshiomhole's overbearing domineering control on who emerges candidate will only further damage his party's prospects at the polls. Bayelsa drama looms in Edo.

Political parties are quick to blame INEC for its inability to conduct a trouble free election, yet they can't even conduct their primaries without resort to violence and other malpractices....
The stakes are really high in Edo and the process has been tailored to produce an anointed candidate. I don't see how violence won't erupt even if the primary election is held at the Defence Headquarters.
