What are Stressors?

Stressors are the name given to the things that cause you to feel stressed and anxious. Examples of these are fire-fighting, conflict in relationships, not having enough time, money, people or resources to mangage your commitments, implementing change in your business or personal life, taking on new roles, having more or less responsibility, feeling guilty for not having enough family time or being valued at work.

Stressors go beyond the natural pressures necessary to motivate and stretch you as they trigger the release of 'stress hormones' (known as cortisol) that take you into an unproductive state. Thus affecting your decisions, mental clarity, memory, energy, attitude, communication, creativity, tension, health, happiness and goal achievement.

Problems will always be a part of your existence. After all, you are not living your life if you are not experiencing any troubles, right? Now it is up to you to deal with difficult situations. But there are times when financial hardships, disputes, and challenges can become overwhelming, causing your stress levels to rise. Some of the common things that you can encounter every day include the following:

Not having enough time:

When you are endlessly beating deadlines or running errands, you will most likely feel exhausted at the end of the day. What you need to do is to rank your priorities so you will know which tasks to do first.

Practising unhealthy habits:

Gorging on junk food, smoking, excessive drinking, and not exercising are all factors that can contribute to physical stress. This is because this kind of lifestyle prevents you from being able to cope with hardships.

Getting more than you can handle:

Wanting to impress people is normal, especially in the corporate arena. But taking in more than you chew is bound for failure. So be honest with yourself and accept only the tasks that you are confident in doing.

Expecting too much:

Having high expectations is always a ticket to disappointment; hence, when things do not work out the way you wanted them, you get upset and stressed out.

Depriving yourself of some R and R:

Not being able to take a break from your mad schedule can also leave you over fatigued. If this continues for a long time, it can take a toll on your health.

So in order to avoid the harmful effects of stress, you have to make sure that you seek professional assistance today!

GINSENG

Here are some of the benefits of ginseng:

Stress reliever: Ginseng is known to reduce the levels of stress and acts as a stimulant.

It also regulates metabolism and increases energy levels.

signs of aging as it is a significant source of antioxidants which halt the formation of free radicals and another anti-aging substance called maltol.

Mental stimulant: Ginseng tea helps stimulate brain cells thereby improving concentration, thinking ability and memory.

CHAMOMILE

Nature’s Tranquilizer

Thanks to another flavonoid, apigenin, chamomile acts as an effective natural sedative, relieving anxiety and stress. For that reason, brewing a chamomile tea before going to bed or anytime after dinner can help you get a good night sleep, aiding with your goal to keep cortisol levels at bay.
