THE JOY OF A SOUL IS YOUR STRENGTH!

Acts 16:26-27; New American Standard Bible

But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them; and suddenly there came a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison house were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone's chains were unfastened.

While in prison, Paul and Silas rejoiced and sang songs onto the Lord God. They have just entered a city of the Gentiles by name Philippi (Acts 16:16) to proclaim the Good News about Jesus Christ; but were apprehended by the authorities over an incident which involved a certain girl who had familiar spirits in her, and the missionaries. (Acts 16:16-24)



And right after they had been beaten to scorn, they were thrown into jail. Both men sat to reason over all that had transpired.

"Good Lord," Paul might have said to Silas, "Did you see how excited those Gentiles were when we spoke to them about Our Lord?" And Silas may have responded, "Yes! O Lord, great are You, and blessed be your Son Jesus!"

Noticed that we were not told they lamented about house rents, or their "inability" to have children, or find a suitable spouse; contracts or jobs?!

Anyway, they rejoiced over the souls they won over to Christ. And while in the midst of their praises to God for showing Himself mightily through them, something happened!


Firstly, you have to understand that prior to their evangelical missions, Paul and Silas had seen the 11 Apostles win souls before. However, never had they exercised and experienced it themselves! They only began their missionary expeditions from Acts 13. You can now understand the reason for the excitement even while bound in chains in a dungeon.


Their excitement over the souls won over to Christ Jesus triggered Angels to break them out! They never prayed for Angels to get them out; no, do look it up. And also, they never asked God to do it, either. They were not even fully personally conversant with Angelic Ministry up until that moment! (They may have read or heard.)


It was at that moment they then realized that the more souls they accrued to their Heavenly accounts, the more effective and efficient the Angels worked for them even without asking!

This is the way out for all Christians today. We need to quit whining like wild horses on heat, and start winning souls into the Kingdom!


Your next rent and possibly all other "problems" already have a way out, and they are all tied to SOUL WINNING.
