When the present administration chose the so called amnesty as panacea for militancy in the Niger Delta,i had my misgivings about it.It is more like curing the symptoms of a malignant disease rather than tackling its root cause(s).The creek guys have surrendered their arms(in totality?),in exchange for cash and are currently painting the whole town red with naira notes!follow this link for details:

Well, I don't really care how they spend their money in as much as they would stop the criminality in the name of fighting for freedom and resource control amongst others.
By the way, why is Boyloaf behaving exactly the same way Asari Dokubo behave when he was granted amnesty by the Obasanjo administration? What message is he sending to all unemployed graduates roaming the street for job, to join militancy and make money or what.
Why would one spend 4 or 5 (Excluding ASUU strike) years in the University only to end up jobless, poor and wretched while One STACK illiterate enjoys a lot of wealth for carry arms against a country.

And what happens when they squander all the money?
Hope they won't simply return to their old "business"?

My people, if someone puts honey right into your mouth. Will you not chop? Don't blame the militants.
This is free money to them. Blame the person who is dishing out the money.
Besides, anyone that like to ignore all the blatant bribes and corruption involved in this amnesty and hoping the amnesty will work, is part of the problem of Nigeria and the niger delta.

A conscientious govt would have put in place developmental infrastructures in the said region.

All these press releases are cursory political posturing from both sides.

We will wait till the amnesty deadline expires to see whether MEND still stands strong or whether the FG have disabled MENDs strategic capability by buying out some militants. MEND say they have militants to replace Boyloaf and FG says militancy in Bayelsa has been curtailed by the defection of Boyloaf. We will see. If I was to hazard a guess, I would posit that the defection of Boyloaf has strategically weakened MEND. . . . . but we will see in October. Expect a lot of fire, and a lot of casualties.

I feel sorry for the foot soldiers and the ND communities needing development – they will be worse off in due course. But their leaders (the Henry Okahs) will go on to become the next corrupt government officials. Sad to think that so many lost their lives in the hands of the JTF.

lol Man the federal govt is tooo smart mehhhhn lol
Its funny how they use the same Tactics for all tribal leaders  MONEY UP FRONT
Instead of them to fund the building of hospitals, schools, Investments solely for industrial jobs.

just like i thought
That money is small compared to what they could have ask the government to do for them
I knew is was a joke when they asked for houses for all mend members. lol What about the non mend Deltans going through the same injustices?
The government has always used the tactic of using weak politicians and leaders from all tribes
(can't wait to see who the Next President is grin)

haha this is funny to me.
so what's the difference between these yeye small boy Mend militants and regular rogues?

even pete edochie's kidnappers (10 million naira ransom) said they did it to protest the corrupt govt. hahahaha
the thieves don't think they're commiting a crime anymore. they're all doing it for a "cause." whether for naija delta or to fight nnpc etc
maybe i should start my own millitant group sef.

Re: Amnesty Bazaar: Militants On Spending Spree! by ocelot2006(m): 5:12am On Sep 01, 2009
Why am I not surprised? I've been saying this right from the very start. Rather than invest their new found wealth in something meaningful, these boys blow everything on nice cars and women. B4 u know it, they'll all be back 2 square one. By the way, I wonder if they'll donate part of their wealth to the poor in the Niger-delta. Afterall, that's what they've bn fighting for.

Anyway, 'can't wait for the amnesty to end.
Re: Amnesty Bazaar: Militants On Spending Spree! by MUZBO(m): 5:18am On Sep 01, 2009
What do you expect them to do with the money? Put it in Union bank or Oceanic bank or Afribank? Should I continue? There are problems everywhere in this country!
Re: Amnesty Bazaar: Militants On Spending Spree! by oyinda3(f): 5:30am On Sep 01, 2009
so what's the point of having the millitants when they're kidnapping innocent ppl, destroying property but making only themselves rich in the process rather than actually MENDING the niger delta and helping the poor people in the land.
what then is the difference between them and the stupid politicians they're "fighting." both sides are corrupt and fighting for their own personal gain at the expense of others shey lol
