It’s never easy making the switch from acting to singing.
But many Nigerian actresses are attempting it. Big stars you won’t believe have all tried their hands at music and failed.

These Nollywood actresses have released one album or single, then faded into musical obscurity. We love their acting and we wish they will just stick to that.

Music isn’t for the dabblers, I bet these actresses wish they can take back their failed music careers:

1. Genevieve Nnaji

In 2005, actress Genevieve Nnaji decided to release a song, “No More.” Nigerians were not pleased by her efforts. The famous actress went underground afterwards amid the backlash.

2. Tonto Dikeh

Tonto Dikeh’s cross from Nollywood into music was also not successful. Her singles “Get High” and “It’s over” were not received well by a majority of Nigerians.

3. Ebube Nwagbo
This actress decided to go the route of the Igbo gospel genre. Her music career simply faded into obscurity after one album.

4. Omotola Jalade Ekeinde

Omo Sexy also tried her hand at music back in 2005. “Gba” and “Missing You” were some of her singles. We were happy to see her return to our screens as an actress, not a musician.

5. Anita Joseph
Another actress who ventured into the music industry but decided to stick to her first job, acting.

6. Shan George

Shan George released one album years ago. Although many Nigerians couldn’t understand the lyrics as the songs were in her local dialect. Nigerians haven’t heard anything music-wise from this screen goddess for some time now.

7. Patience Ozokwor
Mama G also tried her hand at music. She went as far as releasing a video for her single,”Adaeze” back in 2012. After that, nothing music-wise. Patience Ozokwor has since gone to back to strictly acting.
