The Future Of Money. An Overview Of Digital Currency Era by cointofiat: 11:33pm On Jun 27, 2016
Gradually Nigeria is fast becoming a cashless community. We now can move billions just by a click. The world at large is gradually moving to become a fully digital world where a unified currency will be adopted as a digital currency. No one really knows for sure which of the current digital currencies will finally make it to be the world's poster child.

The emergence of digital currencies threatens the existence of conventional Central Banks round the world. Digital currencies are gradually moving towards the era of decentralisation which simply means no government or single entity can regulate or control the value, demand, and supply of a decentralised digital currency.

Sometimes in 2007, some individuals have tried to invent a world class digital currency with a view to having those currencies adopted world wide. While some thrived for a while before finally receiving government sanctions which immediately led to their non existence. Some of these failed digital currencies include; e-gold,e-bullion,liberty reserve, etc. Perhaps, 2 of the oldest and still surviving digital payments are Okpay and Paypal. Unfortunately these were not made to function as currency on their own as they are tied to the value of dollars, pounds, euro, etc. These were in no way decentralised.

Modifications were made to the development of digital currency thereafter which then led to the development of 'Blockchain Technology'. This created a classic sample of a perfect decentralised digital currency that will have it own unique value and will exchange for other conventional currencies at rates which will be determined by demand and supply. One of the most successful digital currencies since the invention of blockchain technology was Bitcoin.

Bitcoin started off sometimes in 2012 with a value less than a dollar. The fact that blockchain currencies are free from government regulations and all other known circumstances such as inflation attracted a lot of investors to change their money to Bitcoin. This high demand forced the price of Bitcoin to go all the way from 1$ to $1000 for 1 Bitcoin. This spike instantly made many people millionaires in 2013. Many clone blockchain currencies began to spring up as such we have the likes of Litecoin, Ethereum, etc.

The good thing about the blockchain currencies is that it value rises rapidly as more people get to know of the blockchain world. China is currently leading as one of the biggest investors in blockchain currencies so as to cushion the effect of inflation on their money. Currently there are various exchanges or brokers who allow people to buy and trade these currencies for profits 24 days and 7 nights. This appears to be the next focus of the Wall Street and other money bags round the world as the future of money and undoubtedly the money making opportunity of our time.

Some of these digital currencies can be bought or sold in Nigeria at cointofiat.com (This inlude Bitcoin,Litecoin,Ethereum,Paypal and Okpay).
