Ganiyu Oyesola Fawehinmi, 71, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and former presidential aspirant, is dead. The prominent social activist was reported dead in the late hours of yesterday, after a two-year battle with cancer. Born on April 22, 1938, Gani dedicated his life to the defence of human rights and criticism of government insensitivity. So sad to hear this story.Gani will be missed by all.He was a blessing to Nigeria and now that he is gone the question is who will step into his shoes. |
