Adeyeye Ogunwusi moved into seclusion at a shrine known as Ilofi in Ile-Ife, Osun state, where he stayed for21 days after he was chosen as the new king. During his stay in seclusion, which is a part of preparations towards his coronation, the Ooni went through initiation processes into different cults. According to tradition, the monarch worshipped Obatala for five days before the conclusion of the seclusion rites. Was he not a Christian then? |
