Harvest of Tears and Lamentation as Gov. Udom Orders Demolition of a House Belonging to 90 Years Old Man

It was a heart-rending sight to behold when a Caterpillar supervised by military men pulled down a thatched house belonging to a 90 years old man in Awa iIman, the country home of Governor Udom Emmanuel.

According to information sent in by one of Guide Newspaper’s citizen reporter, the thatched house belonging to the 90 year old man was pulled down to provide an expanse of land for the construction of a Visitor’s parking lot for the newly constructed mansion of the Governor in his hometown.

It was gathered that the 90year old man who has been crying over the loss of his house is now putting up on the veranda of one of a Pentecostal Church in Awa iman in Onna Local Government.

OP, like seriously?? not only harvest of tears but trailer load of tears. Where is the armed Mobile policemen in the picture. Very Poor journalism/reporting.
Gov.Udom is known to be a compassionate Leader, he has the interest of the people at heart. He would'nt love to do this to his fellow country man. It is not possible, quote me anywhere. I know a temporary place will be provided for the elderly man to stay, pending when he orders for a fresh house to be built for the man to move in, if possible. I don't know the motive behind this post/topic or report.

I expected to see a mammoth crowd of sympathizers &armed policemen or military men, just to pull down a thatch house. And this poo will make front page. SMH

From what the pics has shown me,there is an old outhere that is homeless and needs help.

That is the question many are asking.

My friend..some of us have heard from both side...that is from the commissioner of work, he said the demolition was for road construction, but finding reveals that they want to make the place either car park or just leave it.

I think the Governor does not want any mud house near his mansion. BUT what he should have done was to compensate them well or better still give them like a month or two months notice. BUT hell no. They gave them just like a week or two which is very bad.

Nobody hate Udom Emmanuel..but what is bad is bad.

Take a look of the house. The road construction has been completed. so why the demolition of the poor man's house?
