The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board never added on the article that the would adopt the calculation of o-level result with the early broadcast shared by friends a sample link at
Url: www.nairaland.com/3207545/check-how-calculate-2016-17
, it is however known that the social media is the fastest medium to spread rumours, all those lines of the rumoured article were included in the report on the 7th combined policy meeting held at Abuja on the 2nd day of June, 2016, but they were wrongly interpreted by bloggers or hype men.

The first rumour was the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board wouldn't admit candidates with awaiting result- that was the style Abubakar Tafawabalewa University Bauchi adopted in year 2015/2016 session of the admission exercise. The body didn't say anything about awaiting result buh they faulted the method because it stated a life span of 5 years o-level result, which would be a disadvantage to some.

The second rumour was on the point calculation: This was the method Ibrahim Babangida University, Lapai adopted in 2014/2015 Session. This was faulted also by the body because it believed weighted course requirement grades and UTME scores put some candidates to disadvantage.

The meeting further went with analysing the quota at which each of the universities are filled, some institutions where used as case study. And at the end of the meeting it was only concluded that.

• Screening of candidates shall be for those Offered provisional Admissions Only.

• No written examination to be conducted

• Verification of valid Jamb results by checking
- Online Result slip - Printout
- Provisional Admission letter
- Photo Album - Checklist
- Biometrics

• Institutions are free to source from other course(s) to compensate for Shortfall in any of the criteria

Its hard to tell, am not a jamb offical, according to the 7th combined policy all tertiary institutions (any other thing you can use to qualify education above secondary level) would use a cut off 180 or above. I can't say of some polytechnics may further give considerations.
sad
