Dear Nlanders, this is the first topic I'm posting here since joining this forum and I hope to get serious and mature suggestions.
Its about my kid brother who is in jss2 but will be promoted to jss3 this coming academic session. The thing is, my mother wants him to join naval secondary school in which case he will be starting all over again from jss1...weird right my immediate younger bro see the idea as an act of wickedness towards my kid bro but my mum's reason for wanting him to forfeit the two years he ve already spent in secondary school is that it will be much easier for him to get a direct entrance into d naval force and also wouldn't have to suffer unemployment like the rest of her kids.
He took the naval examination and he was among the successful candidates. Right now my dad is not sure if to withdraw him from his present school and enroll him in the naval school..
So my question is....will it be right to enroll him in the naval school in which case he will lose two years and if yes...what are some of the benefits of attending naval secondary school?? please I need good opinions.

I think your kid should continue in his present school because going a naval school is no guarantee of joining the force, its just like a normal secondary school with a higher form of discipline. I attended a naval school in pH. and its only the NDA that guarantee u joining the force when through, so if its the NDA he gained admission to, he shouldn't waste time going but if it's not he should continue in his present school.

Withdrawing him is setting him back knowing fully well that attending a naval school doesn't guarantee him being accepted into naval force.

He can put in for a course in NDA after his secondary school

I will advise you guys to enroll him into Naval school, thou the one in Ojo Lagos...... he get to understand full disciplines and good education from qualified teachers! Most of their teachers there are well recognized by waec and jamb, they have all the games in sport and they don't miss Inter house sport, debates and quiz, and also social yearly. The only bad side of the school is the students, especially the boys, they are very bad and rough, when it comes to drinking and smoking... And also looking for the next babe to straff, (well I don't know if this stuff still continues).
