@OP, there is no need to fear!!! Remember the "SpongeBob" cartoon? There was a character called "Squidwerd", and by looking at his name, he is supposed to be a Squid(10 legs), but if you studied the character on the screen and count his legs, there are only 8(so he must be an Octopus)!!! Why all the errors? Because the cartoon was written by imperfect and error prone humans!!! But god is supposedly perfect and error-free, so why all those errors in the bible? BECAUSE THE BIBLE WAS WRITTEN BY HUMANS!!!

From the universe filled with pulsating balls of gases, you shouldn't be confused whether some bodies of gas cannot gather and give light before the sun and moon took shape.

If you put science into it, the sun's purpose is not just light, if it were light, there were other sources before it, rather, the sun's gravitational pull gives order to everything in creation.
It is because the sun is there that the earth can spin and revolves producing season and regulating the climate as well as maintaining a healthy atmosphere cloud necessary for survival.

That's why the sun was created before any other thing, not just for the light but for order and seasons.

To add to that, let there be light was more of let the dark gases disperse so that light can penetrate the earth which hitherto was dark and waste. Since you are a thinker, let me give you something else to ponder on: There was really light before creation.

Good thinking. A light must have a source. But go back to your screenshot or even the entire Bible, you would see the Bible, God or Moses made no mention of the source of the light, so the answer to that question is the source of the light is unknown.
