wow, i am extremely addicted to this show THE WIRE, and the utterly sexy gbenga akinnagbe, NIGERIAN/UNITED STATES born actor, it keeps me in suspense whenever i watch this show, and now its moving fro HBO to BET, as soon as school is over im going to buy the whole series, and watch it. Has anyone else on this forum seen the show before

It makes business sense for a show to be moved to a black-oriented channel if most viewers are black.

actually raymand, in the US if a show is doing pretty well, htey try to move it to a channel that it can be viewed by a larger public. HBO is a special channel that normally does nto come with the basic cable so it has to be subscribed, so by moving i tto BET that is on basic cable, it gives a larger public the opportunity to view it, i think it just means that they have a lot of faith in the show, trust me this show is ridiculous, i watch it religiously every sunday.

So in other words black people in the US are too poor to afford HBO, but cheap cable TV like BET that they can afford?! The wire is only going to get choked on BET from what you insuniated, anyway what are the ratings of that show? is it big hit? or a flop?

HBO is part of a premium cable package. It has the best and well written show and it has alot of stuff that most parents wouldnt consider to be kid friendly hence it being expensive. If you have money you can afford it, has nothing to do with black or white.

BET is part of basic cable so it not like people choose it. I sure as hell wouldnt choose it.

The DvDs sale for like $105 a season and it's doing pretty damn well especially since alot of the characters come from another HBO show "OZ" which was a bigger hit cept that one could never hit basic cable channels as they'd have to edit 95% of the content. too risque. great show though
