Hellow fellow bible lovers. The bible seems to speak of a pre-adamic world, much like the dinosaur age. This is based on my re-translation of Genesis 1:1-2 from the Hebrew text which I would now quote.

"Bereshit bara Elohim et hashmayim ve'et haarets. We'haarets hayah tohu ve'bohu ve'khoshek al p'niy tehom ve'haruakh Elohim m'rakhpet al p'niy hamayim"


The word with red highlight is an Hebrew term meaning "was" or "became". Now most translators pick "was" in their own translations. But when I consider the second meaning, a new message is gotten. Below is a retranslation of the text.


"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth became formless and empty and darkness covered the face of the abyss and the breath of God hovered upon the waters' surface"



I have taken the second meaning of "hayah" and it seems to entail that a world or a generation existed before ours and it was probably in this world that the dinosaurs existed until a catastrophe befell the earth and wiped out the former race thus leaving the earth devoid of life. It must have been an asteroid or comet strike on the earth that left the earth formless and empty. That seems to explain why the earth is actually billions of years old when bible text gives an approximate of 6,000 years..... Guys what do you think of this?

heaven consists of Galaxies, stars etc, if we are to agree with you, then Genesis 1:1 will be read as "in the beginning God created NOTHING and the earth" genesis account is not the only verse that mention the creation account, in fact the book of job even went further than Genesis.

You're correct . The NIV foot note also says the earth possibly became void and empty.

Other portions of the bible also lets us know that the earth was not created empty or void .

Isaiah 45:18 (KJV Strong's)
For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens;
God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it,
he created it not in vain

The word "VAIN" means void same Hebrew word "tohu" he didn't create it void

3."Leaving the Earth devoid of life"............................NOT POSSIBLE!!! If you know a bit about bacteria collectively known as 'The Extremophiles', you will know that they can easily survive in volcanic regions!!!

4.If there was truely darkness over the face of the Earth, it would have to have come from clouds of ash, blocking out sunlight!!! Remember that the sun is far older than the Earth, so why does the bible talk about "god" creating a 'new sun' in Genesis? What happened to the old one? In jeremiah 4:23 to 26 , 23) says: I beheld the earth and lo,it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.24) says I beheld the mountains, and lo, they trembled , and all the hills moved lightly.25)says:I beheld and , lo there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.26) says:I beheld , and lo, the fruitful place "WAS" a wilderness, and all the "CITIES" there of were broken down at the presence of the lord , and by his fierce anger.



When you check that verses you will know that the world have existed before the adamic world and they were advance in nature.

Yes The destruction of the pre adamite world affected the then earth and the Solar system .
