Economic policies/direction will negate the effect of endemic corruption?

How come previous policies didn't transcend to visible and sustainable growth and futuristic infrastructural developments?

Go and sleep my friend!!
You are asleep! Everyday u hear of job losses and businesses closing shops those jobs and businesses that are daily being lost are the gains of previous admins. The least this yeye govt can do is too sustain what they were handed. Alas in their cluelessness and lack of capacity, everything is going from bad to worse! Pls wake up!

With this kind of massive looting why won't be going through this pain we are in now. And some idiots would come on here to call Goodluck Jonathan a hero, under his government a group of people looted our treasury like it was no man's business while he watched through.
My only annoyance with this government is the non-speediness of prosecuting this thieves. Wheather they return their loot or not, they should be locked in jail and the keys thrown away if found indicted.

What they were handed was a slowing economy, no savings and low oil prices.

They have made their own share of mistakes but if the social intervention policies are implemented, the economy will gradually recover.

Do you have any proof that he was involved?.

The same committee that indicted the rest indicted Dambazzau but the Presidency has struck his name out of the final draft to hit the media.

I'm beyond disappointed in this man called Buhari, he has turned out worse than Jonathan on this case.

For what....for removing DAMBAZZAU names as COAS within that period and removing of BURATAI name as procurement chief within the period mentioned......God will judge them for their bias trial.....they are making caricature of their corruption fight simple and give the PDP more reason to shout witch hunting.....i don't know how i romance with APC in the first place

Excuses and blame game are hallmark of failures. Only a failed man blames his parents for not leaving him inheritance!

Pls stop making excuses for failure! I take God beg u!

Are u into security business that security corruption affected your economic well being? If they had spent every kobo judiciously on the security procuring arms assumingly, those would have been capital flight! People must wake up and be angry with this govt instead of rationalizing their failure!

$12 in 1999 is not the same as $12 in 2016. Obasanjo also enjoyed high oil prices in his tenure.

The government has not failed, it still has almost 3 years to fix the problems. I would not be so quick to judge a 13 month old government that is just 2 months into its first budget.

There was no time oil was sold for $12 per barrel. Here is a 70-year historical chart which is till date to disapprove your falsehood. That is besides the point anyway, this government is seen to be putting in some effort unlike the last one which was rather abysmal, useless and clueless. You can cry all you want, the truth remains Jonathan failed and is culpable for all the theft that was carried out under his watch. Buhari's file is also waiting for him by the time he leaves office.

Regardless, change takes some while, we can already even feel some of the reforms resonating in government ministries and agencies. Anti-corruption war does not stop reforms in other sectors of the economy.

NOTE: DAMBAZZU didn't actually participated as COAS during Mr Jonathan regime. In fact, he had been retired at the PRIME stage of book haram fight when most of this funds were misappropriated. investigation from 2007 to 2015, does not necessarily mean he's involved. Am not saying he's not culpable, but he was already retired when most of these things (active insurgency, operation pullo shield) happened. We should investigate instead of making Hypothetical statement

Alot of big names have been short listed for further questioning,

Shouldnt we be patient a tiny little bit? Am sure if Danbazau is involved no conivance can remove his name frm statement of accounts of individuals whose accounts funds were tranfered to, also, those invited for questioning would not shield him becos he is now a minister. Mqny of them even out rank him before retirement.

It either they are not involved (buratai and Danbazau) or they are extremely so cunning and smart they did not leave any trail. (Which i doubt)

Arms Scandal Report Not Doctored - FG

The Federal Government has said there is no truth in the insinuation that the report of the Presidential Committee on the Audit of Defence Equipment Procurement in the Armed Forces (2007-2015) was doctored for whatever reason.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Friday, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said what has been released so far is the report of the audit covering the period 2011 to 2015, adding that the Committee would commence the audit of procurement from 2007 to 2010 as soon as the necessary documents are available.

''When the documents regarding procurement from 2007 to 2010 are available and scrutinized, the committee will then issue its report on that. The audit is being done on phases, and the report that was released on Thursday is the third of such,'' the Minister said.

He assured that the Federal Government's anti-corruption fight is non-discriminatory, and called on Nigerians to keep an open mind as events unfold.

''No one should attempt to distract from the seriousness of the issues involved in this audit of defence equipment procurement. It is important to note that even though the total amount spent for procurement and operations within the period were N185,843,052,564.30 and $685,349,692.49, the irregularities in the awards ensured that the military did not get value for money, with very serious consequences,'' the Minister said.

Scandalous figures...

Some of the contracts trace back to the period when Dambazzau was COAS. He should be part of the questioning.

not just that... even BURUTAI(current COAS) was head of procurement in Nigerian army.. so how can his hands be cleaned?
