It was a thanksgiving sunday and I sat down in my regular wing in the church watching everyone dancing as the Jones family marched forward methodically for their thanksgiving, even as people were dancing cheerfully and rejoicing I could still feel the negative energy around, I knew something was not right but couldn't really tell why I had that feeling. I quickly jumped to my feet as I saw one of the ushers starring and walking towards me, gradually I got lost in the music and I started dancing.


We were all still busy dancing when Mr Aderibigbe Jones made a very strange sound as he kept on dancing, though his dance steps were a bit awkward and didn't correlate with the beat, we all thought it was just one of his weird dance steps but he continued dancing even when the choirs had stopped singing, his beautiful wife Mrs Adebimpe together with their children Adeniyi and Adenike tried to make him stop but it even got worse, he pulled off his agbada and at that moment young men in the church gathered around him preventing him from stripping himself further.



"They are here!!!" Mr Aderibigbe kept on shouting repeatedly.

'they are here' Mr aderibigbe said again, the young men holding him are having an hard time in restricting him from removing his clothes after he has succeeded in removing his agbada.
'who are here, dear please talk to me' Mrs bimpe asked her husband with a tear-filled eyes,but the husband did not seem to notice as he keep mumbling incorrigible words
'Madam'the pastor said addressing Mrs. adebimpe 'don't be sad,Jesus the great physician will heal him '
Trust my church members, new topic for discussion has been given suspending the former topic on Mr. john who has impregnated sis Deborah
'its a pity,this is happening on a day like this' mama ejima the church number one gossiper said
'only God know what could have caused this'sis. vero,another celeb in the world of gossip input
'it because of ................'aunty sola want to contribute but was cut short by the loud shout produced by the pastor speaking in tongue
'skalalalalamolskikjsju,........,...............'and he went on rambling placing his hand on the head of Mr. none who is laughing hard at him like he was a sort of a stand up comedian
'who have I offend that has decided to revenge in a way like this' Mrs. adebimpe wailed loudly

[b]There was hear deafening silence as everybody just focused on the pastor as he conducted a deliverance on Mr Aderibigbe, at first he was still jerking around but after few minutes it reduced slowly until it got to a complete halt. As soon as he became sober, he starred around with all shades of embarrassment all over his face. His wife and children went closer to him and they all held each other passionately.

The pastor rounded up the service by sharing the benediction earlier than usual as the thanksgiving has been cut short by Mr Aderibigbe's drama. Have I mentioned to you that the Jones family are my next door neighbours? Oh yeah they are, enough about the Jones. Let me tell you about myself. My name is Lawrence Ajanaku, tall, dark, handsome, currently unemployed and in a relationship. I bet you wanna know who I am in a relationship with? Adenike Jones, the first and Only daughter of Mr and Mrs Jones.

As I was walking past the pastor's office heading towards the major exit, I heard Mr Aderibigbe's voice again.

"They are among us Pastor, it's not an illusion, I know what I saw" Said Mr Aderibigbe.

I stopped abruptly beside the pastor's office to looked back at the scene being created by Mr.aderibigbe who keep repeating 'they are here,am sure of what am seeing', but that was not helping his condition as the people are just shaking their head in assumption that he's suffering from chronic madness with different suggestion from different suggestions
' I think he should be taking to the psychiatric home at yaba' Mr john, a usher said but was eyes lashed by Mrs. adebimpe who was angered by the thought of her beloved husband in an asylum amidst lunatics. The way she hissed at the poor man reminded me of the way she questioned me when she got to know about my relationship with adenike
'what is your name ' she had asked me that day
'Lawrence ma' I stuttered
'where are you working' she asked at the same time giving me a gaze that make me felt uneasy
'erm ma, you say what' I asked in a unsteady voice
'I say where are you working' she asked raising her voice a little but to me it was just too much, I was confused and if not for Adenike timely intervention, that could have be the end of our relationship
'ok, let us asked who He'seeing' the pastor baritone voice broke my thinking, 'ok, Mr. Jones, who are here' he asked

I was passing when i heard,i was confused that how could she av think that far buh i just see gossip as their talent,well it not good for someone's talent to buried.mama &co ltd,that was how i greeted them.you this boy what is your problem why do you like disturbing our church growth meeting?,one of mama's staff asked.hmmmm really church growth meeting,i immediately change it in my mind to church gossip meeting.


Just left them cause i don't have their time i was busy seeking for adeniyi.the guy just suddenly disappear after his father has go mad on our side that is all what i could think,that was when the church gossipers word start ring and begin to make sense.someone must have done this to that man humble and responsible husband and father.i was just going round seeking adeniyi.

SEVEN YEARS BEFORE
When I was still in the University,University of Ibadan to be precise,studying one of the most competitive course in the country-Economics.Have always have the thought of working in the central Bank of Nigeria one day , all seems to be going fine after I graduated with a first class.But reality of life shone on me when I searched the city of Lagos with my hard earned certificate only to be hearing the same result NO VACANCY,COME BACK LATER.
After another frustrating day of job searching,I finally saw a board which“ECONOMICS TEACHER NEEDED,APPLY WITHIN OR CALL 080********” was inscribed on it.At least half bread is better than none,`i said to myself`.without hesitation I knocked the gate of the school and I was answered by the gatemen-who I later got to know as MUSA,An elderly man,who has travelled to the most commercial state of the country(LAGOS) in search of greener pastures,I later got to know that he is married with children and grand children.Back to the matter,after much explanation,he took me to the principal who was impressed with my certificate and was eager to employ me.
To cut long story short,I was employed as the Economics teacher and everything was moving fine until,Miss Adebimpe,one of the teacher started behaving nice to me,if I say nice,I mean nice.it all begun when she was asking for help I did not ask for on whatsapp like offering to come stay with me on saturday,public holidays,mid-term nut I turned all down has that was the time I spend with my friends on the football pitch or watching football matches.if you don't know I love football,Am a fan of Manchester United,the most followed and richest team in England and the World.

Since nobody want to take up the challenge,I challenge myself.
Back to the matter
The interest Miss Adebimpe has on me tends to
increase day by day but was still on a normal note
until the school yearly party.
The party was full of fun on the part of
parent,children and Teachers.Adebimpe Solaja was
dressed in a pink gown with a split in the front,hair
properly packed to the back and face full of paint of
different colours(lols).she was frustrated to speak out
her feelings,thereby sobbing in the process and I
being moved by the tears, wrapped her around my
arm like a little baby and she stops crying but this is
something I cannot do-i can't cheat on Adenike,she's
my everything.....I probably don't know what to
say,that I was just muttering“it okay”.
In no time,the principal,Mr. Johnson,a broom-like
man dressed in a new packing shirt and an Italian
shoe walked in the class with a smiling face but the
smile soon dissapeared the moment he saw me with
Adebimpe,he moved out without saying a word.that
was the time she broke away from me.
My sack letter was presented to me the next monday
being the day the student are to collect their report.I went ahead to the principal office to beg for mercy and the following
conservation ensued after knocking on the metal door.
Principal:yes,come in
(Walking in with my hands on my trouser zip like a five year old who just bedwetted)
Pricipal:ehn!ehn.what are you still doing here?
Me:sir,I beg of you sir.pls,give me at least a last warning.it was a mistake.
Principal:you that came here begging for job,then,I
gave you the job and you started forming boss on the
girl have been preserving since all this days.hey!hey!
Youth of nowadays have now turned to .........
Me:sir it not like that.
Principal:shut your mouth.it not like that,then it
how.mtcheew,you better get out of my office,before I
do something very bad to you.
What I did not know before is that the principal has
crush on miss Adebimpe.I moved out of the school
compound in tears that was on the 18th of December
2010,two years after working for Divine gate college.
Umemployed has been my name since then,either
casual or seasonal.playing sport bet from the little
money I get from Adenike,football
conpetition,working as labourer in so many company
has been what have been doing to survive but none
seems to be working now.
