Greetings nairalander folks,this is Nigmarelli as some of you may already know and this thread deals strictly with pointers would be PS3 buyers should consider before embarking on purchasing the console in the first place.Lots of people had already gone ahead to purchase first and then start asking me"Sir is my console jailbreakable","Sir i would like purchase games from you" and i respond the thread reads PS3 games for sale for hacked/jailbroken consoles and they're heartbroken.Without wasting time what to consider are;
USAGE: buyers should ask themselves what would i like to use it for?Short,mid-term or long term.Be it for entertaiment purposes either solely for you,you and friends/family or for public use to make money.Usage determines a lot.Wether it be for any above next thing in line is,
PRICE AND BUDGET:This goes hand in hand with usage.I.e should you choose to use it short,mid or long term which pays me better?A hacked/jailbroken PS3 or unhackable or hackable but not hacked yet?It goes without saying that a jailbroken PS3 pays in the long run.The advantages are immense,from getting games for cheap,to ripping,longer lifespan of lens,e.t.c.Due to such benefits they usually are more expensive(40-45k range maybe less depends) but after the initial purchase price everything else comes cheap,especially games.500-1500 max depending on the seller and his/her source whichever way its still cheap.Next is hackable.I.e has the potential to be hacked but isn't.May be also in the price range of hacked depending on the sellers know-how when it comes to jailbreaking ish.If they know then they wont part with it for cheap knowing the potential as regards hackability.Finally we have unhackable.Goes for as low as 25k-30k max but by the time you star buying cds which are nothing less than 2k-12k fairly used and new,you'll find out that though it paid off short-term,long term it isn't.
That been said,it's quite difficult to know which of the PS3's are actually hackable or not than those that can't be.Unhackables are easier;most superslims with firmwares 4.53 and below can be hacked with cobra Ode which is quite expensive(16-20k) and it's quite unstable.Same procedure goes for some slims too those with serial no CECH 3*** and above.Do your research to get it right and leave it to the Pros.Another thing is this;slims hacked normally(not with cobra Ode) are better and more stable than Phats.While if you can cope with cobra Ode systems then they are better than Phats as regards overheating issues.

Also i deemed it fit to add this important fact;due to the way the hack was made an external hard disk is a must for every hacked console owner because some games work only from internal and some only from external only some from both;also some games require data installation before you can play and the size is in gigabytes on the internal so clogging the internal with games as well as data installation,data takes space and if cares not taken your PS3 could crash o!
An external helps bridge those gaps.So guys take note o!Very very important.Ciao.

When u want to buy a hacked console, have one thing @ the back of your mind, it will develop fault sooner or later because the hacking has altered the mechanism of the console. Am enjoying my console after the experience with a prior hacked one, yes cds are a bit expensive but u can get used ones for less price and later swap. U hack, remember u have hacked a problem for yourself.

Greetings Mr Olaremint,if that were true as you claim where is your proof?And why hasn't it been widely published?Why did Sony themselves try so hard to eliminate the possibility of hacking so as to play homebrew games on the system?Mind you,i didnt insist people must buy a hacked system,ii only post this thread so they know what they want first before buying so they dont later start wanting to do the reverse as the case may be.I have a hacked PS2 that still works perfectly besides the cdrom being destroyed completely,also have a hacked Sega dreamcast console(the last console sega made)same class as the PS2 that still works perfectly.Whatever device anyone owns or purchsed legally can be altered by the owner as they deem fit especially computer driven devices(yes at owners risk where you obviously render the warranty void if it gets damaged,e.t.c.But if the owner is tech savvy enough and can tweak the device for more functionality and or add apps,no company stops you from doing this.The only thing is owner must know what he or she is doing in the first place.The only thing the companies fear are;the immense profits they might lose should end users be able to do use this tweaks as often as they want.If you have factual proof,then you can state it here.Cheers.

The procedure involved is tedious and intricate, coupled with the fact that the hardware required for the hack itself is in short supply and expensive. As such it would be advisable for potential buyers to steer clear off these models and go for the CechHxxx upwards versions.

And you took his word for it?Maybe he himself adds some discrepancies while hacking thatt's why he told you that.Do your research online.I have and as far as i know(not saying i know all things)the only disadvantage of a hacked PS3 is inability to go online or play online.As long as the console wasn't faulty to begin with hacking or tweaking if you like doesn't do such damage you're claiming.Besides na one console you buy na Boss,you come dey talk like say you don buy several and the same thing happened to all of them.Anyway,different strokes for different folks.Whichever suits you hacked or unhackable i advice people to go for whatever suits their needs.That was the essence of the thread in the first place.Thanks for making the thread interactive.Cheers Boss.

I agree with op, a hacked ps3 is actually proven to last longer than an unhacked one. The reason most people think hacked ones don't last is rather due to misinformation. At alaba some hacked ps3 consoles have been severely tinkered with. Some of them were ps3s with YLOD or RLOD problems which were then repaired and hacked, most especially the Fat consoles. If you would like to enjoy a long lasting jailbroken console it is advised to get a slim jailbroken version. The slims don't overheat as much as the fats and consune less power, this doesn't mean that they also do not develop hardware failures. The idea that a hacked ps3 doesn't last long is rather baseless.

If you really wanna play online you can use psnpatch to spoof your console.

Boss well done,well my Oga oluwaseunsodiq has given you the technical way to do it.I don't know if he does it with his to be really suggesting it.If he says yes,then let him show you how to do it.I know about the spoof thingie but i could only use it to activated dlc's(last of us:left behind to be precise) not gone online with it before.It's way too risky to try.
