REASONS WHY YOU ARE LUCKY TO BE A NIGERIAN.

So I was just thinking about what is going on economically wise, and the strings of complains I hear everytime, so I was like, let me think of one reason while we are all lucky to be Nigerians, wrote one down, wrote two down, before I knew it, I have written 20 reasons why we are lucky to be Nigerians.
Now if you have little or no sense of humor I must say this thread is not for you, because I wrote this just to have a good time. Now let’s roll….
1. Natural Born Hustlers: Nigerians have a natural born hustling spirit, that pushes them beyond the borders of their locality, state and country, propelling them to seek financial success at all cost. The result of which have been both positive and negative.

2. High suffering and smiling tendency: You know what they say “what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger” it seems like a bad trait but at least it keeps people in self delusion that “one day he go better” In some countries people commit suicide anyhow even over minor issues like job loss, business failure, heart break, but as Nigerians no matter the storm we seems to weather it. we have become so used to abnormalities that we see them as normal.Give Nigerians light 20hrs straight and they be like “wooow,NEPA is trying these days ohh”

3. Cost of Music CDs: How much does it cost to buy a local artist cd in Nigeria, N150 that’s how much. How much does it cost to buy a foreign artist cd in Nigeria, N100 that’s how much. The average cost of musical cd in America was $14.00(2000), $13.02(2010), $10.00(2015, due to increase in e-downloads).

4. Cost of DVD Movies: How much does it cost to buy a local dvd movie in Nigeria, N150 THAT’S How much. How much does it cost to buy a foreign dvd movies N150 That’s how much. In America old movies go for $10,new and hot $20-25, regular $15-20.Imagine if I have to pay the actual cost for all the foreign movies I have on my Pc and Exteranl HDD(about 500 movies),how much would I pay?.

5. Getting away with crime: A Former Egyptian President is in prison,a former South African athelete is in prison,a chinese official was once jailed for embezzling about $2000, American prison is filled with business tycoons, rappers, high profile celebrities, you do the crime you do the time, no matter who you are,but luckily as a Nigerian you can get away with many crimes if you have the right political and financial affiliations.
6. Electricity Bills: Nigeria has one of the cheapest electricity tariff in the world, check it up.

7. Cost of Education: The cost of getting a public primary, secondary and tertiary education in the country is one of the cheapest in the world, check it up.

8. Easy access to religious houses like churches and mosques: Nigeria has so many churches you wont have a problem locating any one of your choice.
9. Cost of barbing: The cost of getting an hair cut is cheap in Nigeria, a decent barbing salon will still go for N300-400 only.A lecturer told me he had to learn how to barb his kids in London, during his Phd program,he said the cost of barbing is outrageous, especially when the amount is converted to Naira.

10. Access to cheap/Inferior goods”chinko”: In Nigeria you could still get a good phone, nice screen, android powered for meager amount. Many criticize these chines products but without them,we will be let with iPhone, Htc,Samsung and Nokia. Whose prices are out of range for an average Nigerian.Do you know how much Samsung earphones cost or the price of skullcandy headphones, check it up.But with these chinko products you will get a headphone for N1000-2500, and earphone for N200-600 only.

11. Overnight celebrity status: In Nigeria you could become a celebrity without any talent of your own but being a sister, barber, manager, hair stylist etc to a celebrity, people starts to follow you on twitter and post your pictures on Nairaland.

12. Complete disregard for copyright laws: As Nigerians, you can disregard copyright laws and nothing will happen, who cares really NCC are bunch of salary earners that don’t give a heck. You can use artists music in your movies, adverts, show movies in schools and public places without permission.Try this in other countries and your jail sentence will be taller than WTC.

13. Complete disregard for others comfort: As Nigerian you can disregard others comfort through noise pollution, endless stream of vigil, partying, playing music so loud like you want to raise the dead with sound, and nothing will happen, try this in a civilized community and your ass is in for it.

14. Absence of “crack” cocaine: Nigerians have many vices, but I thank God this aint one of them them. This substance and the rest of its kind has destroyed many young lives in Europe and America. It has led to death, imprisonment and mental instability of lots of black men.
15. Cost of Data/Calls: Despite the complaining about Nigerians being ripped off by telecoms operators,Nigeria still has the cheapest data/call rates in the world, check it up.

16. Complete disregard for movie ratings: Movie ratings are there to pevent certain age brackets from seeing certain movies, but in Nigeria parents disregard these movie ratings and allow their kids to watch any thing as long as there are no kissing/sex scences.Certain action, violent, romace, adventure shouldnot be shown to kids but who cares, this is Nigeria right.Try it in some countries and you will loose your kids to social service.

17. Beating your kids/Spouse: You can beat your kids for no reason, just because your are their father, try this in some countries and you will loose your kids to social service. You could beat your spouse because of too much salt inside the soup or the way she press the toothpaste, try this in some countries and you will be jailed.
