Now to my Christian brothers

I have seen a lot of messages in recent times especially on the social media about the increased threat of Islam and the trend of Buhari’s appointments gives one reasons to be concerned. However, as a lover of history (you should too), I am aware that the church was born into persecution; the apostles we read about in the book of Acts were persecuted by both religious leaders and political ones for their faith. history tells us that the Apostle Paul was beheaded by Emperor Nero for being a Christian. So why are Christians so afraid? I have come to realize that the problem with many Christians is that they have not grown beyond babyhood. They have become so powerless that they are now at the mercy of all kinds of external factors (their pastor, their boss in the office and so on) for their survival and no more on their God and the fault lies purely at the foot of their leaders who cavort around those in power rather than being their conscience and give direction to the nation.

So if you are a Christian what should you do?

First get to know your God. This is the same advice I gave to our muslim brothers even the Bible says that those who their God will be strong. So if you want to be strong especially in this trying times, the place to start is get to KNOW your God personally; spend some more time in prayer and in the study of the Bible.

Secondly, ask questions, be aware of what is happening around you. I am amazed at the sheer number of people who are spreading stuff on the different social media platforms without trying to find out if what they are sharing is true. If you can’t verify an information, don’t share it. This is not the time to be ratcheting emotions.

Thirdly, get involved: the mistake of the older generation was to leave politicking to touts and thieves and that has created what we are experiencing as a nation now. you may not be inclined to join a political party but get to know about who is occupying what position in your locality.

Lastly but also very importantly, pray. Pray for Nigeria, pray for yourself, the truth is you have the power to influence a lot of things through prayer. If you can pray the right way, you have the right results.
God bless Nigeria
God bless You if you are for the peace of Nigeria
