THE COST OF A MIRACLE -2
BASIC SCRIPTURE: Luke 18: 1-8
Please re-connect with yesterday's devotional story about the little girl who went to buy a miracle in the pharmacy store. In the shop was a well dressed customer. He stooped down and asked the little girl, "What kind of miracle dies your brother need?" "I don't know," she replied with her eyes welling up. "He's really sick and mummy says he need an operation. But my daddy can't pay for it, so I have brought my savings". " How much do you have ?" asked the man. "One dollar and eleven cents," she answered barely audible. "Well, what a coincidence," smiled the man. This strange customer took the little girl's money in one hand and held her hand and held her hand with the other and followed her to see to see her brother/parents. "Let's see if I have the kind of miracle you need." That well-dressed man was Dr Carlton Armstrong, a renowned neurosurgeon. The operation was completed without charge and it wasn't long before her little brother, Andrew, was up on his feet. "That surgery," her mom whispered , "was a real miracle. I wonder how much it would have cost." The little girl smiled. She knew exactly how much the miracle had cost... one dollar and eleven cents... plus the faith of a little child. Perseverance can make miracles happen! Perseverance can create divine coincidences. Indeed, miracles can come in various forms - as a doctor, as a lawyer, as a teacher, as a pastor, as a divine helper showing up at the right time and at the right place where you need help the most, etc. This little girl refused to worry, took a "stupid" step of faith and refused to give up on her brother. Likewise, refuse to use your brain on how God will manifest that testimony. Refuse to Imagine the "HOW?" The only price you must determine to pay after today's devotional, is HOLDING ON to the last second on your tiny cord of faith. A river cuts the rock not because of its power, but because of its consistency. So was the stubborn lady in today's devotional scripture. "Persistence, patience and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success" (Napoleon Hill), Never lose your hope! Keep walking towards your vision! God will show up even at the last minute through a divine coincidence... through any means but He will show up! Hold on!
PRAYER POINTS: Take Song 4: What a friend we have in Jesus...
