The Chairwoman Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC), Deaconess Joan Ayo, has said the on-going staff audit has revealed some irregular or unauthorised appointments which have been declared null and void.

FCSC spokesman, Dr. Joel Oruche, quoted Ayo as saying the staff audit was aimed at fishing out the irregular and unauthorised appointees and delisting them from the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System (IPPIS).

“This action is necessary because the appointments are not backed by any vacancy from the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation and as such, were not budgeted for. Besides they are in gross violation of the Federal Character principle,” Ayo was quoted to have said.

She said declared vacancies from the HCSF would soon be advertised and assured that all Nigerians who are qualified would be given the opportunity to compete for the available jobs while selection would be strictly based on merit within the context of principle of federal character.

The chairwoman assured that the FCSC would continue to ensure that promotion is strictly based on merit, adding that the guidelines for appointment, promotion and discipline is being reviewed to meet the increasing demand of present reality.

Unless there is transparency in the recruitment process, nigerians will still see any of their advert for recruitment as scam to exploit the poor masses while they reserve the various positions to the sons, daughters, friends and families of the political elites.

PMB just have to prove us wrong by enacting and implementing the law that will stop politicians from hijacking the whole process.
