The Riemann's hypothesis says all interesting solutions to an equation lies on a straight line meaning where f(x) equals zero. y= X- 2, the f(x) is zero at x equals 2. If it is a quadratic equation, it will have two roots. The uninteresting or trivial solutions to any equation follow a decipherable pattern like 2, 4, 6, 8..... that is easily seen by anyone looking but non trivial solutions do not. They are distributed like prime numbers. You do not know where you will find or encounter the next one 1,2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29.......To know the next prime number is interesting because it is unpredictable but Riemann's hypothesis says such interesting solutions for the Riemann zeta function and indeed any function like the next prime is on a straight line. For the zeta function, all interesting solutions have their real part equal to 1/2.!


No explanation for why this is so but it has been checked and found accurate for the first 1500 million solutions! Will the next one be so? Probably yes, since others before it were but no proof of why it will be so. No formula to use for prediction. Yet this is the basis of computing, cyberspace security, e commerce and etc Because you can not predict where the next prime number lies is the basis of many security systems. You solve the problem, then everything breaks down.

Terrence Lao hasn't solved the riemann hypothesis, it's now me, an undergraduate of a Nigerian University that'll solve it :v :v
