Arrest to save the suspect my foot. We all know the rearrest was an order from above . The new IG wanna prove to his benefactor that he is capable of silencing anyone that may dare him even in the slightest way. Let's see what the court will do. Is there any law that prevents anyone from giving his pet human name ?

How should Ndiigbo handle this Chinakwe issue?
Should we all be out defending this Chinakwe man? No

Should we deny him instead? No!

We let him be, and go about our businesses. If he cries out to us, and seek our help as an Igbo man, then we try to help him, if he doesn't, like he currently doesn't, then we don't stick out our necks all over social media and print media, engaging Nigerians in verbal warfare that could trigger Blood letting on us, all for a man with an Igbo sounding name, who for all we know, could even abhor us more than the Arewa-Oduans do.

This is my take on this issue.

The arrest is wrong. Buhari does not have exclusive right to his name

Read the story again. He wasn't arrested because Buhari claimed to have exclusive right to the name, he WAS arrested because the Police felt the name of the dog is provocative and might lead to social unrest. He was also arrested for his own safety.

In my previous article, I have started discussion on how Project charter can help project manager to acheive project success. In this article, I want to continue with that discussion because my desire is that you succeed in your next project. Follow me as we look at what you need to do together.

#1: RELATIONSHIP WITH BUSINESS NEED

I said a project is a problem that is scheduled to be solved. In creating a Project charter , you have to state how this project that you are about to carry out as it relates to the problem on ground.

You must state the reasons why it is so important to do this project now. I have said it that there are always many proposals begging for the attention of the organisation.

If the project is not that urgent, why can’t we postpone it till a future date.

You also have to explain in this column the ways the project will address the business need as well as the threats that will not allow you to acheive the objectives of your project.

Adequate use of Project charter in project management will help the project manager to identify obstacles that will not help the organisation to acheive the project objectives.

#2: CONSIDER CONSTRAINTS AND ASSUMPTIONS

You have to address any constraints or failure of assumptions that will not allow you and your team members to acheive the objectives of the project.

You have to know if there are any time , cost scope or other issues that might limit the way you and your team members can approach the project.

It may be that you do not have enough money or time is not just there to explore as far as project is concerned.

You also need to know if there are factors that you and your team members will pretend to be true so that you can move forward.

This pretence might come so that the project can start. That does not mean you will not have a precautionary measure in case of any eventuality.

You also have to know if there is any risk of project delivery. Most at times, there is always this extra time that you can delay a project and it will not affect the deadline of a project.

You also need to find out if there is any project constraints.

This at times can limit the options that you have as far as external suppliers or other project option is concerned. You really have to know what is available for a particular project.

You also have to know the suitability of the software that you are able to adopt. Who are the manufacturers? How long have they been in business? What is their track record as well as their after sales service capabilities.

The creation of Project charter in project management becomes necessary because in project management, you got to have a direction as far as what you want to achieve your project is concerned.

Having a clear blueprint will help you to understand some of the deliverables of your project, who will handle the project as well as other parameters for your project.

You also have to know if you are going to face any challenge as far as resource availability is concerned. Are you using internal or external resource or combination of both ? What is the level of commitment of your proposed team members to their primary engagement? Who has the power to release resources for your project. all this must be addressed before the project kicks off officially.

You have to know if your project will involve the use of internal or external resources. This is to know how long they will be available as well as the cost implication of their engagements. You will also know what will be affected during the course of their engagement to your project.

Project charter in project management helps the Project manager to understand if they have all that is needed in terms of resources to acheive the objectives of the project. You will know whether you need to look outside your organisation for team members.

I'm not sure an Emeka will find it funny living in such a compound.
Anyway, the police should be allowed to do their job but in a civilized manner.

So killers are left to roam while victims should be hidden in jail?

I also heard one other lunatic{residing in USA} have named her pet 'lia Mohammed' and some very sick people were applauding her foolishness. We all know how fragile Nigeria is and how some people tend to protect their religion and what not. What will people achieve by creating unnecessary crisis here and there? People are quick to accuse the northerners of being too prone to violence without accusing or calling out the instigators. Now every sane mind knows that some people will find naming a pet after buhari provocative and the sooner the authorities deal with that lowlifer the better for everyone. In USA people name their pets Lincoln, Washington, Obama etc and everybody flows with it. A neighbor of mine even named her female chihuahua 'Hillary'. But hey, Nigeria is not USA. Let them continue faning the embers of ethno-relgious crisis that will CERTAINLY consume them. They are very good in accusing the north of violence without stating the reason for it.

We can deduce the intricacies of an average ibo man's egocentric nature by analysing the words of Chinua Achebe in his book titled " There was a country".

He described the Igbo, who are predominantly Catholic, as

“fearing no god or man", was “custom-made to grasp the opportunities, such as they were, of the white man’s dispensations. And the Igbo did so with both hands.”

This tells that the igbos are a largely disrespectful people. They have no loyalty to God or man. What happened to "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise." Ps 111:10 .
To have no fear of God is to ignore His Word. To have no fear of man is to incur wrath and hate. Remember that fear in this contest is not timidity but reverence. There's a world of difference in between the two. No wonder a man can dare to name a dog after a sitting president..in Africa! No reverence.

Let's delve further into what Achebe had to say about his kinmen.

He criticised them for what he described as “hubris, overweening pride and thoughtlessness, which invite envy and hatred or even worse that can obsess the mind with material success and dispose it to all kinds of crude showiness.”
He added that “contemporary Igbo behavior(that) can offend by its noisy exhibitionism and disregard for humility and quietness.

Alas, this is all revealing. We shouldn't be further surprised. However, the humanity in all of us should be the victor in this . The Ibo man is innately arrogant. They should learn that nature by law propagates itself by survival of the fittest and until they learn how to strategise effectively in the Nigerian state, the will continue to bear the brunt. Every human is desirous of having the upper hand against his competitor, the one who succeeds is stronger and to be stronger you need a superior way of thinking other than shallow arrogance and pride.

Once more, Achebe's narratives
“Although the Yoruba had a huge historical and geographical head start, the Igbo wiped out their handicap in one fantastic burst of energy in the twenty years between 1930 and 1950.”

What happened thereafter, according to Mr Achebe

“Nigeria’s pathetic attempt to crush these idiosyncrasies rather than celebrate them is one of the fundamental reasons the country has not developed as it should and has emerged as a laughingstock,” he claimed.
He noted that the ousting of prominent Igbos from top offices was a ploy to achieve a simple and crude goal. He said what the Nigerians wanted was to “get the achievers out and replace them with less qualified individuals from the desired ethnic background so as to gain access to the resources of the state.”

This is called SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST. Big fish kills smaller fishes.

To the few reasonable ibos ( I know they exist) I say THINK, PLAN, STRATEGISE, then you can change your lot in the Nigerian entity. Refuse to follow the innate pride and shallow pettiness. Think your way to success.

Peace
