Let me start by louding the decision by Seun to ban such topics on Nairaland. Alright, we all know that such decision can never stop an addict. I just want to advise them and my former self. I really do not know if i have stopped it or not. What every addict will tell you is that he can stop whenever he wants but it does not work that way. So, let me point out some of the things you ahould have at heart.

1). Stake with amount you can afford to lose. No one prays for that but being careful is never a sin either.

2). Do not gamble when you need money. I mean do not appear desperate.

3). Make sure you use your brain not your heart while gambling. Do not be emotional. Reasonable gamblers(if any) are not fans. They support their money. Business is done with brain not heart. Any business you are into that requires your heart more that it requires your brain is no business but a charity store.

4). Do not repeat a game no matter how 'sure-game' it is to you.

5). Do not make it so open. People read you everyday and your reputation matters a lot. I know you would say, 'i don't care' but how people see you matters alot. Do not make a bet house your second home. I advise you register online. When you play online, no one will know when you lose or win. I gambled a lot. I hate gamblers and no reasonable fellow will give you information about a job if you pay a lot of attention to gamble.

QUIT IF YOU CAN.
