How many husbands can give up their flourishing career to spend time with their ailing wife, not many I suppose. However, Jrue Holiday, who played for New Orleans Pelicans is one husband who takes his marriage vows seriously. Immediately his wife Lauren, a former U.S. women soccer star, was confirmed to have brain tumor, He told NBA that he was leaving to pay proper attention to his wife, her health was more important to him.

Lauren is currently 8 months pregnant with their first child. The NBA team has shown their full support for Jrue at this time, as they wish for Lauren to get better soon.

Jrue and Lauren got married In 2013 in a picturesque ceremony.

The couple met years before in the cutest way. While both attending UCLA, a young girl asked Jrue if he was Darren Collinson. When Jrue explained who he was, Lauren, who had been sitting behind him, told him that he was cuter than Darren anyway.

Even though they were dating other people at the time they met, the couple eventually began dating after Jrue was transferred to the Philadelphia 76ers in 2009.

Lauren retired from playing midfielder after USA beat Japan in the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Less than six months later, she was pregnant with her and Jrue’s first child.

On September 4, 2016 the New Orleans Pelicans announced officialy that Jrue was leaving the team indefinitely to take care of his wife, Lauren.

“We are all praying for a healthy delivery of their first child and a successful surgery for Lauren,’ Pelicans general manager Dell Demps said in a prepared statement provided by the club.”

“Furthermore, we ask everyone to respect the Holidays’ privacy at this time.”

“The most important thing for Jrue to do right now is be with his wife and family,” Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry said in a statement.

“Every one of our coaches and players understands what Lauren and Jrue are going through, and they know we’re behind them 100 per cent.”

For Jrue, it wasn’t a question of what he was going to do when he’d heard the devastating news. He had to support his wife in every way possible.

“My family comes before basketball,” Jrue told Nola.com.

Lauren will have surgery six weeks after she gives birth to their baby girl in mid-October, though they may induce labor early. At this time, they are maintaining their privacy about the situation and focusing solely on Lauren and their baby’s health.

You will agree with me that husbands like that are rear to find!

Yes o!
And we can also say there are wives and there are Wives. Why? Because before that man can take such decision, the wife must have occupied a very special place in the man's heart, she must have been someone whom her husband could not do without, she must have been a very pleasant, tolerant, admirable and lovable wife.

So, there are wives and there are Wives!

In this life, whatever we know how well to do, we shall reap it here on earth. One good turn deserve another, same with one bad turn. I'm sure if the wife was bad, the husband won't make this huge sacrifice for her sake.

There are wives and there are Wives. No one does this for an undeserving wife. She must have earned it.
