i need advice pls my people. This thing gives me insomnia.

Am currently enrolled in one of the state universities in Nigeria, studying geology but I'm so double minded about this course am doing. I think info tech is more marketable than geology or is it not?

Am actually thinking of writing jamb again next year and applying for my dream course which is Information Technology at the prestigious. FUTO. Considering

should I continue with geology or switch course

note; am in 200 level

Studying Geology doesn't stop you from being an IT guy. I think you can get considerable IT knowledge from self-taught and paid courses. The most important thing is to agree it is what you want and chart a course. My friend studied Geology but works in IT today. He spent more of his undergraduate free time learning how to code among other IT stuff.

It's true Infotech has more prospects than Geology. Hope this is not what is guiding your choice? I think the more important thing is if you really like IT. Switching for the marketibility might not be enough. There are many unemployed IT graduates too. In my opinion, once you're a great IT guy, it becomes less relevant the course you studied in the university. As long as you rock at what you do, you'll stand out.

Anyways, if you're convinced you're in the wrong place and it is affecting your performance, you may switch.
