Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has given the figure of the number of guests he receives on a daily basis as between 2,000 and 3,000 amidst curiosity.

He said, with the figure, hotels and guests houses in Ife and its environs had been busy accommodating them, noting that the economy in the state has been receiving boost as a result of this.

Ooni Adeyeye made this known at the unveiling of the Olojo festival’s logo in his palace on Friday.”

Government can come and tax to boast economy. They can provide consumables to woo more people into the state receiving that number of guests daily, is significant to every economy. Tourism is not more than this. when people move from one place to another for cultural reasons is,” he stated.

He added that culture and tourism, if given the needed attention, was capable of extricating the country from the country’s economic limbo.

According to him, when we got to the United Sates of America to showcase our culture, they told us none of our leaders as ever portrayed as you have done. That they never knew our culture was so rich.

Ooni, who sated that, tourism moved and attracted people from all over the world, said the people in the country together with the leaders were not ready to explore the potentials embedded inthe sector.

The governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola, also lauded the Ooni forhis unalloyed strides in promoting culture and tourism, saying his administration was going to use culture and tourism to create wealth in the state.

Dr. Charles Akinola, who represented the state governor, said the governor would continue to throw weights behind the Ooni initiatives.
