Thorough research has told me that both of them have not been too impressive in their various clubs. Roeder has blasted Baba for about a billion times

Babayaro has no business playing international football.

Taiwo on the other hand is a much respected left-back.

This is a no-brainer.

Babayaro is still good and has never been on bench in his team unless he has match ban or injured. taiwo is good too so two of them are worthy of supper eagles with babayaro leaving on his much experience and taiwo suffering from excessive stamina and boiling blood to play more. we need the duo

The more i hear baba's name the more angrier i become.

He refuses to be associated with my country again despite using Nigeria's name to get to the very top.

I am sure he would have been at Onitsa market selling boxing gloves to Jackal, Debosky and myself. grin

Taye Taiwo forever.

Nigerians are too quick to condemn players.
As far as i am concerned, Celestine Babayaro is yards ahead Taiye Taiwo.

The fact is Babayaro is the most consistent Nigerian player in the world.
A lot of people might question this statement but Baba is always playing at the top level week in-week out.
He hasn't improved a great deal but he hasn't deteriorated at all.
Baba's been keeping a consistent form in the last 10 years.

Had you mentioned someone like John Utaka, or even Odemwingie, you'd have more of a case.

Babayaro is far from the most consistent Nigeria player in the world.

You mentioned that he hasn't deteriorated but Babayaro stopped developing as a footballer five years ago. Good players don't peak before their late 20s.

That's not to say that he's a bad player, just that Taiwo is more focused and as the younger player should be given his chance.

Also, I've met the guy (Babayaro) and as pleasant as he is he really doesn't strike me as professional.

Too much time spent in the clubs, not enough time resting.

This is why i don't like arguing on cases like this.
How can u begin to compare Babayaro who's been doing it from 1996 till date to Utaka that joined the Eagles in 2002 and Peter who joined in 2004?
Check this, how many of Babayaro's mates in the U-17 are playing at the very top level today?
Only Kanu and maybe Wilson Oruma.

Kanu faded out for some time but he is back in form again.
Wilson Oruma also disappeared for a long while before finding his form at the concluded CAN 2006 where he proved his mettle.
I admit Babayaro has not improved but he has not deteriorated as well.
He is very consistent.

The argument will fair and square if u mention Utaka's name in 2012 and Peter's name in 2014 cos they would have enjoyed 10 years in the National team by then.
Thinking about it now, i dont even think the guys u just mentioned will be fit enough to play for Nigeria in 2010, let alone 2012/14.

If this is your argument then I guess we should dig up Yekini, Amokachi, Siasia, Finidi George and the rest.

I mean they've all been doing it since the 80s, right?

You don't pick your best team on reputation.

Football is about form and confidence.

You build confidence, you build form.

I really dont trust Taiye Taiwo at all what Diomansy Kamara did to him in the last nations cup is still fresh he is so prone to errors; He contributed largely to Marseiles exit in last seasons french cup when after collecting the ball tried to dribble Bonaventure Kalou in Marseilles box Taiwo lost the ball and Marseille the match.

Jackla Jackal

Baba is better than TT anyday.

I am a loyal fan of Cele for many years.

For about 5 to 6 years [ Not 10 years as you claimed], he is the most consistent Naija player by miles.

If not because your own Dwight Yorke  grin destroy his(Baba) career, Baba would have been Chelsea's captain today.

Recall when Baba was Baba, John Terry was just an apprentice, ball-boy so to say.

Jose flush out the old bridgade but still left Baba to show some seriousness but Baba keep on following Yorke to Late Nights. Loss of form caused by women, women, women.

The high point of my hatred of him is when we send them parking from Nations cup, him and Yakubu went to British press to say they were sent parking because they went for 10 minutes coffee break.

Did i hear coffee brek in a very hot country Mali or Coffee break on the bed.

He changes his mobile number.

May be he has changed his attitude yesterday, he stopped talking to all Nigerian players in England.

I will prefer a mistake prone commited player in TT to a good footballer and pompous Baba.
