Whatsapp is set to sideline a number of phone brands from its chat application as from December this year.

As part of effort in bringing better services to their esteem customers, Whatsapp have decided to announce December 31st 2016 as the end date of supporting some types of phone.

Whatsapp which is the most popular messaging application platform used by almost 90 percent of smartphone users in the world will no longer support some mobile devices as their planning to expand their app features and add more security tools to their App.

The affected mobile devices include:-

All Blackberry phones including blackberry 10 devices.

The company added through its blog post that despite it was a tough decision for them to make, but still the right one in order to provide better service and better ways to keep in touch with your family, friends and loved ones using Whatsapp.

Therefore if your phone falls within the stated range, you are advised to either upgrade to the newer version of Andriod, iPhone, Window or get a newer ones before the due date.

This development felt like a sword piercing my heart and going in and out repeatedly like sexual penetration. Just when I got accustomed to having whatsapp run on my device 24/7 this happened. E no go better for facebook although I believe eventually the huge number drop of users would make them re-evaluate the decision.

Don't know and don't care. Nokia and Microsoft once partnered to make phones, the deal broke off a few years back after facing mediocre sales. One can't tell the future and I'm very sure facebook has made some decisions in the past they backtracked on. All I know is after six months if I don't find a tweak or replacement phone I'd switch to a rival app.
