AKIANE KRAMARIK, born in Idaho, began drawing at age two. Her hyperrealist paintings are so powerful that they converted her atheist parents to Christians. Kramarik, who was homeschooled and is a self-taught painter, has created works that have been inspired by visions from God—a figure she had never known in (or outside of) her home.

“We didn’t pray together, there was no discussion about God, and we didn’t go to church,” Akiane’s mother, Forelli, told Today’s Christian in 2004. “Then all of a sudden, Akiane was starting to talk about God.”

“I wake up after I have had many dreams,” Akiane added. “I wake up and I pray, and then I see visions and I explain all those to my mom,” who would give her canvases to re-create them. They even led her to paint “The Prince of Peace,” a portrait of Jesus completed when she was ten. The model: a carpenter who showed up to her house looking for work. “Some researches actually analyzed my work and compared the Shroud of Turin with… this painting,” Akiane told Katie Couric earlier this year. The Shroud of Turin is the alleged cloth Jesus was buried in after he was crucified. “They said it was almost 80 to 90 per cent accurate.”

Today, her original works sell anywhere from $10,000 to $3 million.

This picture titled ‘Prince of Peace’ was painted by eight year old Akiane Kramarik. At the age of four she started having visions of heaven. A four year old named Colton Burpo underwent immediate appendix surgery and claimed Jesus had taken him to heaven during the procedure. Colton described to his parents over time how Jesus looked and what he saw for his short time in heaven. Colton’s parents would point out pictures of Jesus and ask, “Is this him?” Colton would reply with “No. The ears are wrong.” or “No, the eyes aren’t right” His parents did this very often and not once did they find a picture that had no errors. Colton’s father showed him this picture and asked “What’s wrong with this one?” He simply replied, “Dad, that one’s right. That’s Jesus!”

The amazing works of Akiane Kramarik, a child prodigy. Why is she a child prodigy? Because at age 4 she had a life-changing spiritual transformation, bringing the family to God and she started to draw and paint. You might say – every child likes to draw, but Akiane’s drawings were special, mature and at age 8 even professional. She was teaching herself and learning mostly from her own keen observation and study. But this is not where story ends, at age 7 began writing poetry and aphorisms.The inspiration for her art and literature comes from her visions, dreams, observations of people, nature and God.

Akiane Kramarik is primarily a self-taught painter. She began displaying her gift with art at the age of four and painted this portrait of Jesus Christ at the young age of eight. She states that God has given her visions and abilities to create her artwork, which is unusual for her family, considering both her parents were atheist at the time (they later converted to Christianity on account of Kramarik’s paintings and visions). According to Kramarik, her art is inspired by her visions of heaven, and her personal connection with God.
