OP 99% of the pictures are of the NLNG areas and not the town itself.it's just a normal town setting

The ghetto part of town is even worse than bariga and parts of ajegunle.
And not all parts of the island get 247 light from the NLNG plant too.Only finima town gets 100% light

The most clean and beautiful parts are the NLNG areas where the expats and workers stay.
Wallahi on seeing the place, you will beg for recolonisation.

Only Finima? Please get your facts right.

This was how Ajaokuta was up to around 1993 when Russian TPE held sway. Wide roads, good neighborhoods, standard schools, well maintained green areas, etc. Infact it was selling surplus electricity to NEPA from its thermal plant then.

After the Russians left, all the infrastructure collapsed. The so-called Nigerian engineers that filled the maintenance department could not even run the power plant. Nigeria is not ripe for independence.

Malabo is beautiful, but I guess you haven't been to other rural/'slummish' areas of the capital.

As for the oil they are enjoying, you can't be so sure about that.

my guy, equatorial guinea is he richest country in africa...its income per capital is almost four times that of south africa is in same range with top european nations....if u dont know what dat means? Equatorial guinea is 4x richer than south africa and the 9th richhest in the world.she is ahead of switzerland.

I had the best time of my life when I visited Bonny island two years ago. Ning RA... Everything was just close to perfect.. The bread from thr bakery, thr schools hospital etc.. I also stayed outside RA, beachside hotel.. Believe me it was fun. The only bad experience I had was the color of the water that I used in the hotel.. Bonny sweet

This is not a true representation of bonny island, that is just where the expatriates and senior staff live casual, junior and majority of the indigenes live in an area where two vehicles can not pass themselves no portable water... and many other good things that give life a meaning.

OP is stylishly advertising himself that he works in Oil and Gas and is a clean-looking fellow. So that when he is ready to start chopping and cleaning mouth, NL babes will quickly fall grin #ExecutiveAdvertising.

But the rest of the place is a slum.

Pictures show Nlng Residential area and industrial area. The main town itself, finima and bonny still reeks of poverty.
The RA is very organised and is managed mainly by Nigerians! Yes , there's serious "Nigerianisation" going on and the expatriates are being replaced by capable Nigerians. You still have few of them though. Light is 24/7, very good road network, hospital is A class, free gym and sports facilities for guest and staff residing there. Excellent schooling facilities (and free) for staff kids. Only staff kids school there, every class has a smart board.school buses always on time, you aren't allowed to drive until you get thier learners permit etc etc etc. Things work on the IA and RA cos you have good systems in place!
Nlng RA is a proof that with the right systems in place, Nigerians can successfully build a beautiful country. And the OP didn't come in through the NLNG jetty using the "catflash", a very comfortable 1 hour 30mins boat ride. Those pictures are from the local boats which I hear are equally good.

NLNG has got about 9 or more Gas Turbine Generators (GTGs) all under the care of 'General Electric'. They generate their own electricity not PHCN.
You see what I mean. No wonder. Because I knew if naa NEPA dey control them, they must always Bleep up sha nii.

Everywhere on the Island including bushes get 24/7 electricity, the only difference is the source, While NLNG supply to finnima, Shell supply to the ghetto areas, you are correct the OP has more of RA pictures, again he took a picture at the beach so he must have passed the town areas like Bariga as you called it.

And na the same Niger Delta be this, where some other people are living in shacks.

Every part of Niger delta where people with sense live are developed, the people without sense are crying and blaming everyone for their mental inefficiencies.
Re: Bonny Island: Most Beautiful Island In Nigeria (Photos) by jpphilips(m): 9:51am On Mar 17, 2018

very true. I worked there for 3months. Non-stop power supply. Infact the people there dont use stove or gas, they rely heavily on electric cooker.

Most cities in Niger Delta where the people have sense enjoy the same, not just Bonny

wow beautiful! How much is a plot of land there, and the water I'm seeing,is it linked to the Atlantic ocean? If they end up selling NLNG like Dangote suggested, that would be the end of Bonny Island.

Sorry indigenes dont sell land to strangers!
