The retaliatory cleansing of christians in northern Nigeria that follows every anti-Islamic pronouncements/acts of the western world in contrast has not brought out the beast in 'em Christians.

You see, it all boils down to outlook, both doctrinal and generally.

Christians know very well that brute retaliation is not prescribed in their holy books towards conflict resolution. Well maybe in the old testament which encourages the concept of "an eye for an eye". They however see an easier attitude and approach with the new testament's "turn your other cheek" and "pray for your enemies". Many more adherents of that faith also do diligent work to teach 'emselves in order to verify if what their clergies teach are truth or not.

Islam has some outright pronouncements that favour brute force and coercion in its holy books. And while the hadith may be some ways to streamline those dogmas and ensure that "literal" translations are done with to favour more acceptable norms of social interaction and human disposition in an evolving society, some "crazy adherents" and hate teachers have stuck with the literal meanings of pronouncements in the holy book and also gone ahead to infuse such bile into unsuspecting members of their congregations some of whom are too lazy to read the scriptures themselves or engage in rational thinking with a view to justifying the instructions ir commands from such teachers. Otherwise, how will one teacher tell me to strap an explosive on myself and go on a "victory" parade to ensure a place for myself in heaven? Heck no. I'll call his bluff and tell him to go do that himself.
