nope.Universal app is just an sdk.used to produce apps to run on pc xbox one mobile microsoft surface pro and holo pads.with the massive gap of microsoft windows 10 used by over 200 billion people including me.which means any app released for mobile runs on pc,xbox one mobile etc.makkimg delopers now have chance to build apps for win 10 due to alot of people are now using winows if not lumia it pc.if not pc it the xbox one.

I haven't tried Allo so I don't much to say but from the review its pretty nice and the Google assistant makes it a plus. However, it will be easier fr people to download if Google can embed sms into. Google knows exactly what to do and that's integrating these apps in the core OS without needing any downloads in order not to look like a 3rd party app.


Big G should allow it to be easily used in other devices including desktop. This will aid it's usage speedily

Lack of full is allo biiggest killer...in case u dont know: whatsapp and skype are already testing their messenger with sms.and u know what dat means? Allo is already dead.apples fans are already engrossed into imessage...why would one dwload duo and allo when skype or whatsapp can do better than d two combined...

By d way,google wont even launch desktop version because of hatred it has for microsoft.even hangout never had,xcept web version.that action will be another deal breaker for allo enthusiats.

nah.. social platform wise they fail... but giving out informations is where they really are good..

Google has YouTube and it's really nice, they have android, well no comment on this one. They have gmail, which I honestly love more than yahoo mail, they have the search assistant google itself and it is top notch..


This allo should just borrow telegram's features, then make the app the default must have messaging app on android, then watch allo sow higher than every other messaging app. But this really isn't even what any user needs from google now, rather they should give to the public those things the public might really need, and not social apps, when we have a bunch of those known and unknown littering the STORES. Trust me this allo thing would be a failure like hangout was.

Yeah, Google has obviously got some failed projects but that's what people said when Android cupcake etc was launched.

The first time I installed WhatsApp, only 1 of my homeboy had it too & less than 5 years here we are. Tech adoption is the most dynamic trend in this generation.

At present the only thing WhatsApp got going for it is the larger user base, there's been no innovation for a long while & that's definitely going to have a backlash.

didnt u hear dat apple and google are graduallypulling/lacking support out of self-driving cars?....google is having difficulties in turning dia R and D into fruition....from project tango,now on tap,project ara,project FI,google fibre etc are all dying,if not dead...same will happen to daydream

for example.Now there is a new vlc media player.developed with universal windows app.this vlc player is not like the vlc on the desktop.but why would vlc still develop universal windows app even for pc when they still have a desktop vlc??

Microsoft on the mobile front, from my own point of view is suffering from its self imposed restrictiveness, but the deed has been done.

Competition is good for the end users though so I'll really want to see them innovate & bounce back.

like i said.google main fear is microsoft and not apple.microsoft not only has money.it has it ows search engine.and it even ios default search engine.google aint making apps for windows.but we dont really need it.am a developer.b4, i wont and not dev apps for windows because if i registerd on microsoft and paid them to publish.with the lack of users means i cant sell my app to make my money back.but withe uwp.knowing almost every pc runs win 10.one store to check for apps.xbox one one store to download apps.it gives me chance to sell my apps because now there are lot of users.

they arent even using windows mobile.they are dumping windows mobile for full windows.they will soon launch surface phone with full laptop specs.that will be iphone killer.like how surface pro tablets are killing ipads..
