I was just wondering what correlation Heart has to Do with Love even though it's wildly used.

Don't get it twisted here, so far my knowledge about the heart and the brain brought me to this thought of heart been used in place of brain even in most cases of swearing.

Let me brake it down to what brought my question.

The Brain is the main processing organ, the part of the brain called the Cerebral Cortex is the site for memory, learning and emotions too.
The Heart on it own does the primary function of pumping Blood to all the body part even it functions of constriction and dilation still depends on the brain to know when it's to pump excess blood or slow down.

It has clearly been shown from the heart function that it stores no information of memory or love, so what is the main rationale of people using "I love you with all my heart" and never " I love you with all my brain" neither will you ever hear I cross my brain if people are making promise but people say I cross my heart.

Even in medical school, we do ponder over why the heart is erroneously associated with issues of the cerebrum, which is a part of the brain.
It's the brain that controls thoughts and emotions, the heart is exclusively a pumping device...
Even the Bible says... Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh forth...
This must be a case of mistranslation, because the heart cannot think.
