Buhari Has Shown He Belongs To Somebody After All – PDP by Nobody: 8:39pm On Sep 30, 2016

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of complicity in the alleged manipulation of Wednesday’s Edo governorship election.Reacting to Buhari’s congratulatorymessage to Godwin Obaseki, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate and winner of the election, the party said the president had shown he belonged to somebody.

The PDP said this in the context of Buhari’s inaugural speech in which he said: “I belong to nobody and I belong to everybody.”

The party insisted that the election was rigged.

“President Buhari’s congratulatory message to Godwin Obaseki has finally revealed his hand in the Edo guber election imbroglio. We note with sadness that he had never extended similar congratulatory messages or goodwill to PDP candidates who were victorious in various elections since he assumed office,” Dayo Adeyeye, spokesman of PDP, said.

“In Bayelsa state where his party with the support of security agencies virtually declared war on Governor Seriake Dickson and the people of Bayelsa, the president refused to congratulate the PDP candidate who against all odds managed to survive the APC onslaught.

“His aides claimed then that the president was not in the business of congratulating election winners. Why the sudden change of heart now if we may ask? The only plausible explanation is that the president was eager to confer legitimacy on an otherwise badly flawed election in which his party acted like Shina Rambo, the notorious armed robber. Only that this time they were robbing the people of their votes.

“The action of the president belies his statement that he belongs to nobody but belongs to everybody. The president has shown where he belongs. We recall that President Jonathan dutifully never failed to congratulate opposition candidates who won elections during his tenure, including Adams Oshiomhole. That is what is expected of a statesman.“

We did not lose the gubernatorial election in Edo state. We can therefore not be described as ‘bad losers’ according to the APC state chairman in Edo state, Anselm Ojezua. We were robbed by very shameless election riggers.”

He has already started to show it with nepotism, selective corruption fight and so on. Buhari performs with words and not with actions, the president that performed in both actions and words was GEJ, he stated that his blood wasn't worth anybody's blood and he proved to be a man of his word when the time came. As the president, he was always the first to call and congratulate the candidate of the opposition party anytime they won in their states even when his party(pdp) kicked!.

Unlike buhari who claims to be for everybody but upholds marginalisation.

the point is, Buhari illustrated that he belongs to every and to nobody with words, while Jonathan illustrated he belonged to everybody and to nobody in actions. Buhari talks too much with little performance and that is why only the gullible and obdurate proponents are cajoled, indoctrinated and swayed by his words.

first of all, the question was immature, you feigned ignorances on jonathan's achievement and you want me educate you on it again.

We all know deep inside us that Buhari is not up to par with Jonathan in administration, even if oil price hits $300pb today, he won't still achieve what GEJ achieved.

Anyone who thinks Buhari should not stay beyond 2019 will have to look for other means to do so

It will not happen through the ballot box

Edo has shown APC will do anything to remain in power

Imagine openly preventing PDP party agents from entering collation centres?

Nigerians must stop kidding themselves, Democracy is dead!

I don't really understand some people here and in Nigeria as a whole who are pained by the outcome of this election..does it mean APC cannot win election in a state they control and have a structure in..so because they won,the election was rigged? You people must be joking big time

IF eventually some wailers died of hate, we shall drap their coffins with the inscription "died of hate". With this destructive rate, it'd rather take a miracle for them to survive till 2019. Is Edo state part of the land of the missing sun? Stewpid Afonja Slaves.

One serious challenge most Africans, especially Nigerians have is inability to think beyond their present stomach. We observe daily how this present government keeps on flouting and eroding all the tenets of democracy, yet some people openly support it. PDP has complained now and some people will castigate and insult them. Good. When it affects you directly, don't come on this forum and start whining.
