It seems like a crime without a victim, the only victims are those willing to be victims being that they buy the drugs on their own volition.

Some countries would give 25 year for murder but kill a drug trafficker, or even give 3 or 4 years to a corrupt government official whose white collar crime ruined millions of lives directly. It seems unreasonable.

Explanations, opinions?

Drug abuse brings a lot of harms to a society at large. It not only ruins the life of the abuser but also put the lives of people in the society in grave danger as these guys can perpetrate all sorts of crimes when under the influence of these drugs.

Trust me, when you look at this issue deeply, you will understand why some countries give stiffer sentences for drug peddling (they are basically killing the entire society) than murder.
